Depending on the spot, I might be sharing will know closer to the date. Cabins usually sleep 3 or more anyway.

Well there is one place I've found that has the car wash a few metres down the road from it, RSL across the road and a short distance to the pub your talking about but it's a motel. I can call and enquire about a group booking there. I was just trying to keep it as cost effective as possible for everyone.

I've got the prices on the cabins, the place were BurnedOut, hubby and I stayed last year won't take bookings until late August and chances of us being able to have all the cabins are slim if we can't prebook pretty soon. So if we go the cabin route then I think it will be with the other place I called...10 cabins in total, some with ensuite, some with toilet, some with shower. There are really only two parks away from road noise, the others are on or close to the Newell Hgwy.

Whichever way it goes deposits will need to be paid to hold the rooms/cabins.

Quote from the motel mentioned above is:
Large newly renovated rooms, reverse cycle air conditioning, queen size beds, TV, Austar, DVD players, Free wireless broadband, tea/coffee making facilities, refrigerator, toaster, microwave, hairdryer, iron, sofa's, electric blankets. Swimming pool. Situated opposite Services Club & Cooke Park, next to Café, close to clubs & shops, restaurants, Nearest Motel to McDonalds & KFC.

3 x Family Rooms that are two bedroom units and will sleep 4-5 people. Queen bed plus 3 singles. $135 per night.

3 x twin share that will sleep 3, Queen plus single. $99 per night.
3 x twin share that will sleep 4. Queen plus singles plus trundle. $99 per night.
2 x single that will sleep 2. Queen. $89 per night.

The above prices quoted to me will ultimately be cheaper if we choose to stay there. The more people we have staying and we also will get a car club discount helps.

Quote from cabins:
10 Cabins range from,
$64.90 per couple with no ensuite
$70.40 per couple no toilet
$78.10 per couple with ensuite
$85.80 per 4 people no toilet
$93.50 per 4 people with ensuite

Cheapest cabins I've located range from $65 per couple + $10 per person extra. All of these have ensuites I believe and will sleep up to 4. Only catch is they won't prebook so it's a case of wait until August and hope they are available.

All depends on which way you want to go with this..........

BTW what in the hell is happening in Parkes, apparently most places are booked out the weekend before and after the Meet.

Yeh I know Dan, I remember,only reason I didn't suggest it was....parking can be a problem I was told.
If it's a hassle for people it might be simpler for everyone to choose/suggest a place and if people are interested then look into a group booking with them?

Ok The Coachman has 36 rooms available at this stage. Prices listed in previous post are current. Possibility of a discount with a group booking if made pretty soon. Parking is outside the rooms etc.

Ideas, thoughts and suggestions welcome.

Yeah I do prefer to have the car parked at my window, Caravan parks/cabins are usually bigger areas less likely to have someone just randomly walking by. But group discounts are always a selling point.

I have to say that I'm another one with preference to a cabin.
Have made enquiries to pre-book 3-4 cabins (CobraXR8, Airmon, Ausbird) near the venue, will hear back shortly.
Can be increased if anyone else wants to.

Ausbird: Cabins sound good, and being near the Venue is also good, However the highlight of last year was the drinks at the Pub on the Saturday night... and if we are anymore than a short distance from where we are it CAN make it difficult to get back to the rooms etc, god knows i wont be having a drink then goin anywhere near my car... Just a thought.

Cheers Dan

I agree, thats why there is the choice of the Coachman (have prebooked 10 rooms there for those that want to stay there) and the cabins. Getting back to the cabins isn't an issue if your planning to drink, just a quick cab ride is what we did last year. Those that aren't drinking or plan to stay under the limit can park their cars in the Coachman carpark.

Reality is we won't get everyone in one place and I was just putting the choices out there for people to make their own minds up where they want to stay

Those that want to confirm a room with the Coachman Hotel you need to call them and tell them your with the B-Series Car Club who have 10 rooms prebooked, you'd like one of those rooms.
Coachman Hotel:
1.Grum

Those that wish to stay in a cabin there is approx 8 available at this stage
Cabins:
1.Ausbird +1
2.CobraXR8 +1
3.Airmon

Default Change Of Date Now 17th October

There's been an unavoidable change of plans.

Today I was made aware that the Central West Car Club have already made arrangements to incorporate our show with theirs.

We're very thankful CWCC have done this as this now allows us to be part of one of the largest car shows in the central west and will have a much larger display whilst still enabling us to keep the B-Series Parkes Motor Meet theme going with our own display and trophies etc.

The date is now Saturday the 17th October. Followed on Sunday by a big swap meet.

Entry forms and a flyer will be available to download from the B-Series website within the next few days.

I will contact the Coachman and relevant parties and advise of the change of dates.
