engine number tx5

my parents have just bought a '92 tx5 and whilst trying to register it have come accross a problem...... no one can find the engine number. i'd be very grateful for any ideas

on the earlier ones

ford put it next to the gearbox on a flat section

and on the mazda ones they put it next to the head on a flat section

but it will be stamped on the block somewhere
