Hey guys,
In my gf's 99 Forte, the front passenger's door won't lock. Basically, every door will lock, but as soon as you open the front passenger door from the outside, the locks cycle three times and the whole car is unlocked. Not that the car is particularly worth stealing, but she does sometimes have stuff in it that might take someone's fancy. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? |

yep, you need to replace the door lock actuator in that door. there is a mob on ebay that does exchange actuators i think and there should be a tutorial floating around here somewhere on how to change it. being an au 1 you will need to make sure you get one from the same model otherwise they do weird things when you lock them.
here it is http://fordforums.com.au/vbportal/mo...article&id=756 |

Well, Ford uses the same lock and actuator for ALL AU's, BA', BF's, the ONLY thing you would have to do is buy a harness to adapt the NEW type lock.
If you want to buy a NEW one, they have them on EBay for $175.00 or about the same from a Ford Dealer. |
