Default Late 2015 Ford Focus LZ Sync 2 map update

Hi All
I recently sent my partners Focus for a service. As per Ford policy, a free map update was suppose to have been completed. I received a call from a technician/advisor to advise that the map update could not be completed as a new SD Card was required, at a cost of $1200. The current SD card is not faulty. This kind of blew my mind. I contacted Ford directly for clarification and they directed me to the dealer principal.
Can anyone advise as to the validity of the $1200 quote or possibly direct me to a link to get the map data.
Thanks
