jpd80 I think that is splitting hairs and just spin to avoid frightening old-school LR owners. Another example of monocoque & large towing capacity is the Pajero.

Re things the next Falcon should get - proper rear seat headrests

Bumping this thread as it's only 3 months away now.

I'd hope the G6ET loses a bit of chrome, but does anyone have any updates in regards to cosmetic changes or info about what is confirmed to change?

Would be shocked to see any changes to FG. As far as we all know, 2010 is confined to Coyote V8, LI LPG (now delayed) and next year new Territory, ecoboost 4 and diesel?

Nope..

FG Mark II upgrade is coming with new motors too.. They confirmed this in a release last week with the 50th Aniversary stuff.

I can only assume that will entail new wheels, trims and colour changes.

Sorry, I meant sheet metal changes. What are the new motors?

That... ^^^ Euro 4 compliance on 6 cylinder and coyote powered V8. Arent they getting a new 6 speed auto standard too for XT and ute range?

Theres been information around here but its seem to have dwindled away.

I suspect we may see Xexon lights to as I believe the FG styled lights were originally setup for Projectors on the outside, as per why Ford had to run headlights on inside and highbeam in the smaller outside circle.

To the best of my limited knowledge, they are scrapping the 4 speed when e gas and wagon stop production but I always believed that the 5 speed was staying. Also, I do believe the 4.0 I6 in Territory is already Euro 4 and would not be surprised if the FG gets it as a running change due to it being a minor change (different exhaust, tune etc). I am always open to being corrected though........

It was reported as being so last year but as far as I know Ford never really came out and said. I would have thought they might want to promote such a product as being forward compliant if it were true. I was told the same as you though.

In this case there appears to be a further separation that presumably will go into the updated Falcon around July 1st. I will be surprised if Mk2 is used in the model definition.

Yeah, they might do the whole MY10 thing as everyone else is doing. Wonder if the XR6s will get standard 18" wheels as well.

Can't help but wonder if the Li LPG is being delayed due to transmission problems. Because if six speed is standard across the range that would set back product development due to them probably working on mating it to the 5 speed for who knows how long?

Also looking forward to seeing e gas Falcons pulling high 13's on the qtr mile...... ha ha
I remember when HSV were crowing about being in the 13's...........

Can't be any secrets with what is only a minor facelift, can there?

Some of us are holding off to see what the updates bring. I'm mostly curious about any small styling changes & if they'll be better than what's currently on offer.

Well, there probably only a few options. But which one?!?!
DSI 6spd auto.
Ford 6spd auto.
Ford 6spd DSG/Twin Clutch (Eco-boost).
ZF 6spd auto.

It’s been reported that the Falcon will adopt a six speed auto across the range previously and I guess my info sort of confirms that but it still has to come under the heading of speculation rather than knowledge.

Ford is doing an excellent job of keeping their cards close to their chest and that’s definitely a good thing for all Ford enthusiasts.

I totally agree that the Ford have done an exceptional job with keeping it all secret. Makes it quite exciting really.

I think Electric Power Assist Steering will be one of the big changes. Reduced weight and 2-3% lower consumption.

Any idea what this means for the F6's 310kw engine?

Nope.

Ford don't have a RWD DSG box yet. The 6 Speed Auto is a Ford Corporate box, also known as the 6R80.
