UPDATE; Well after doing the rounds on sunday here is what is available.
Lancer
Astra/Vectra
Pulsar
Festiva- already has one
Hyundai Excel

Now the best bit, You can choose these cars in any colour that you like as long as it is White, Silver, Dark blue or Dark green. These seem to be the most dominant colours.
Looks like more days to come trudging through car yards.

I took the XA for a run, and the best thing was the salesmen were too busy drooling to annoy us!

I realise this, just put them together as they are from the same company.
We were looking from 99 models to 02/03.

Ah I see. The Vectra is a nice car, my friend's mum had one and me and my mates sometimes drove it around. Very nice, well-built car.

If your interested? Theres a Hyundai Excel with a $3950 price tag (not sure on year they all look the same to me) at the Brooklyn Greens Estate intersection. Not the BP one the other one. It's dark green and has a sign in the window.

Alrite. Yeh a 2nd hand Honda Jazz should go for around $14,000-$15,000. It's a good car.

You can buy 06 Hyundai or new Kia Rio, for 14 to 15 drive away.3 to 5 year warranty.
Or a new lancer for 20 drive away 3 year free service 5 year warranty

Really have to think about what is wanted.

New, second hand,
Keeper or throw away
Local or cheap import

if you go around $14,000 - $15,000 its close to a brand new car thou it still under a second hand price. I highly recommend to go places like caryards and take a look but purchase the car privately

Another good one is a Honda CRX.

I dont mean the fully sik one, I mean the one that doesn't have a flat rear end, its kind of a sports car/hatch back, targa roof too I think.

edit: heres a pic, I knew it was a Del Sol or something, but I thought that was just on the PS2..LOL And try finding a stock pic of a CRX on google images!

: Well after trying to talk her out of buying the Proton for the past fortnight, we finally went to have a look at it.
I must say that it did LOOK ok, but after taking it for a drive i was even more determined to talk her out of it.
The interior is outdated for a 2003 model, gear shifter just did'nt feel right as well as the vibration that was felt throughout the car whilst stationary, even worse with the air-con on.

I got a phone call from Jade this afternoon asking me to look at a particular Lancer on cars guide, she then asks me, "Dad, where is Grovedale?". After pointing out to her the distance, 17" rims, full EVO body kit and lowered 4" (the ad says), cannon exhaust and the possible cost of the insurance premium, she left it up to me.
The only hurdle was that it had to be a coupe, black, manual and have a body kit.
After searching the cars guide, i found one in Dandenong of all places, which fitted the criteria. Went down with Tracey (the negotiator) and Jade after work. It is a late 2002, 1.8 5sp, body kit, alloys, air, steer, drivers a/bag, alarm & central locking, c.d, 4 new tyres, 1 owner with books and sold new by the dealer with a little over 100,000k with warranty until 175,000k all for 12,990 drive away.

As soon as Jade saw it she forgot all about the Satria, much to my delight and relief, after taking it for a drive she was in love with it. Of course dad has to have a drive, and after a "spirited" test drive i was impressed.
Needless to say, i can report that Jadey_baby is now the proud owner of a nice looking Lancer which she picks up at the end of the week.

Good stuff but as they say this post is pointless without PICS......

I expect A visit to show me the new car in person.

Lancer that vintage not bad for a youngie, - young bloke I know NSW Green P2 has similar, seems happy with it. Threw on bonnet and headlight protectors. Lots of bits about for them, even Supercheap of all places had a dash carpet protector thingy, with airbag gap, for a 2006-7 model!

Ebay has OEM front fog kits being sold from AUS and the US for these models, various year ranges.

Mitsubishi part number 'MZ312957' is for their triangle, see a dealer, cost $20 retail, made by Hella Finland, same unit as Fords. Its case has two velcro strips so the thing can sit on boot carpet lining without sliding about!
