The seat height thing is well documented too, I think I read on here about a company that fits lower rails or something to address this.
It has nothing to do with the seat height. After coming froma BA MK2 XR8 into a G6ET.
The problem is the positioning of the steering column, which has been positioned too low.
When tilted downwards too its lowest position even the smallest person would have trouble getting their legs under the steering wheel.

I'm 183cm tall and have no problems except the steering wheel would be better at a slightly higher (20-25mm) position

I don't find the seating position high at all. Im 6ft and 95kg. Basically cant see the bonnet while driving anyway, any lower and itd be a bastard to park

I'm 191cm and 95kg and the seating position is fine in the FG for me. There is plenty of space. Having said that, I feel as though I sit in the VE/VF seats, and sit on the FG seats.

Edit: mine's a manual.

Im 6ft2 and 80kg have no problem with the fg seats, maybe its cause i drive a manual like most of the others on here who dont have a problem with the fg seats

i went to holden site did a build on stock ss basic everything (paint trim) on road $46080 for manual add $2300 for auto, 600 extra for prestige paint
ss v redline $55,868 with no options ticked manual 58.700 for prestige paint and auto where are we getting 41990 from

How on earth does the transmission type have any bearing on the seats, for goodness sake
I'd say its because you have slight build for your height. Some "rocket scientist" at Ford shaved approx 2 cm's off the width of the FG seats when they changed from BF2 and its well known that generally speaking the developed world as a whole has an expanding waistline. This is one of the reasons for a well known collapsing seat base "bolsters" i.e. many people are in fact sitting on the bolsters due to the seat being too narrow.

So the VF SS auto is 10kw down compared to the VE SS auto. I can't imagine the holden fan boys would be to happy with that.

No...if you're light and of slender build then its more likely you'll be happy with the FG seats...but I would have thought the large car market is designed to comfortably accomodate larger people. Ford in their infinite wisdom make smaller seats in a large car with the well known expanding wasteline issue affecting the developed nations around the world...don't Ford engineers have smart people that study trends in the demographics of their target market ...and then they wonder why their vehicles arn't selling well..

Im 5"7 and 73kg and I hate the seats in the FG, not only that, but the steering wheel can not be adjusted high enough to make up for it either. I can get a better seating position in a focus or mondeo than i can in a falcon.

P.S. My seating position is always the same, lower the seat, backrest up, steering wheel out towards me while i sit as close to the middle of the vehicle as much as my leg length permits obviously.

Well im 6"6 and 87kg and hate the FG leather seats and seating position. The leather seats seem to have rocks in them, after 2 hours of sitting in them my lower back and left hand butt cheek is numb with pins and needles. I don't suffer from any back pain normally and i am a very fit bloke. The steering wheel position also drives me up the wall, it feels like i am sitting on top of it almost. In the FG i literally have to have my seat back "gangsta" style so i can fit properly with the steering wheel.

The only credit i will give it is that my head isn't near the roof, there are not many cars around that my head doesn't touch the roof when i am sitting up straight. maybe cloth seats are different, im not sure, but i think the seating position has a lot to do with it.

For me, I find that flattening the curvature of the roof in the FG is what causes it to feel slightly more claustrophobic. I don't know what the measuring tape actually says, but moving from my BF to a rental FG XR6 which I had for a few days, I found that I was closer to the B pillar and the roof lining in the FG than I was in the BF. The seats feels higher.

Different story for the rear seat, though - much, much better in the back of an FG than in a BF.

Someone on bookface said it was a wagon, so it'll be an auto. Video not really worth watching. Doesn't sound good, poor recording quality.

Maybe holden really are doing 'press specials' with the VF? Or that could be a particularly weak example too.
