Thanks mate. I'm pretty happy with how it is sitting Your bike is looking schmick too!
They are the exact same pro-lites that I've got. How are you enjoying having compacts now? Funnily enough, my commuter uses normal cranks, but the Kuota has compacts.

Yeah love the wheels too. The roll and roll and roll for ages, and I dont kow if its me or not, but I reckon there is some additional comfort on them over undulations. But certainly great bearings to ride on and well built. Deon from Pro-Lite was awesome to deal with. Im looking forward to getting my A42s either tomorrow or Tuesday.

I was at the Byron Tri last weekend and I saw all that primo gear, all I need is that last push. I've got all the gear, all the know-how, all the motivation. I just need the bike.....
It's a big dollar purchase, there is finance options, layby, outright. I just need that "Just do it" moment. What got you across the line? |

Tour De France starts this weekend! Bring on the late nights and tired mornings.
On another cycling note, anyone here doing the Gran Fondo in September in Lorne this year? Me and a few mates are looking to do the 115km route as something different. Got to work out the accommodation this weekend and book it in.

Gears and brakes are my legs and knees. Where I ride we don't need either.
I love track cycling, the team sprint (Olympic sprint) to be particular. Im the lead out man for the team a race that last 40-50 seconds and by the time my last team mate is finished Im in the pub. Anything over a minute is an endurance event in track cycling!. JP |

If I go down the build path I will either look at this option or go a V brake for the front and fixed hub for the rear. I dont like the thought of my knees/legs doing the braking thats all.

fitness is lost so quickly and takes an absolute age to regain. i was riding a reasonable amount before i went on holidays in april. was off the bike for nearly 5 weeks, and even now, having been back on for best part of 8 weeks, i'm still well over a minute off my best times on the climbs. closer to 2 minutes on most. very frustrating. at least the couple of kg's i put on whilst on holiday seems to have gone. food is too nice though. |

I have a conundrum ATM, a wheelset for my bike.
I told my bike shop to keep a lookout for a wheelset sub $2k (Zipps, Dura Ace, Enve etc) as they have a lot of Tri Athletes buying bikes that already have wheelsets, so its a win win offer me cheaper wheelset than rrp and offer the bike buyer a cheaper bike less the wheelset! So I got a call $1,900 for Roval Rapide CL60 clincher includes tyres, tubes and DA cassette. (pic of wheelset below) Roval Rapide are Specialized's in house wheelset, and had good reports. The CLX60 is approx 1500grams with ceramic bearings, so this should be approx 1600grams with SS bearing and different hub. I am not in a hurry to purchase a new wheelset. What are your thoughts, wait for a better deal/brand or hand over the cash? I am tempted to wait for some Zipp303's at a good price

They look great!! Pretty cool that your LBS was happy to accomodate your request too.
I'm personally not a Zipp fan.. they are all too common for me. Would love a set of new DuraAce rims though! The C50's from memory are an awesome looking wheel, and apparently can take a fair whack.

Thought I'd post a pic of my ride.
Giant TCR Advanced SL with ultegra groupset I ride from concord and usually do homebush bay (Olympic park) and around the area. Trying to do a few longer rides when I can. Went out to Watsons bay and easternmost reek during the week (love being a teacher and on school holidays). If anyone is ever keen for a ride (usually average 28-30kmh) let me know. Cheers
