98 RON - The price is higher but I get more kays per tank so its cheaper in the long run, not to mention the fact that is also boosts perforamance and keeps the engine clean of e.

It seems that most of you that have posted hear have rather large pockets or maybe your vehicles have all been tuned to get the best out of 98 ron.

I had mine retuned to 95 ron recently because of the cost, it still performs noticebly better when I occasionally run the 98 ron, when it's cheap enough and when I feel like a good fang. :

I live in Alice Springs NT and have been running my BA XR8 on BP Ultimate. Went to fill up yesterday & almost died! It now costs $160.9 p/l up here!
Why, am I complaining? I have a motorcharge card... lol

BP ultimate 98

It is very expensive when fuel prices are high but i seem to get more klms from the the ultimate than normal unleaded.

I worked it out once and it was less than 10 dollars extra per tank for ultimate and i figure while i can afford it why not?

BP 95 RON..

The BAs love this stuff, put the cheap in and they dont run as smooth.

High octane is only a benefit if the car pings on lower octane, i run the GT on 98 ron, but the Rodeo and BA run standard unleaded with no problem.

Use Shell Optimax in the XP...seems to run better with it than the BP stuff, tried some 95 premium in it the other day cause i needed fuel and thats all that was at this servo and it pinged real bad when the foot went down, so never again

I use Premium in the ute. Tend to stick to Vortex whenever I can. I seem to get better k's per tank using premium.
The Pox Ridden Rough as Guts Company Rodeo : gets diesel. Bring on a new Petrol Hilux! (I have a choice of a Hilux or Falcon, but I need a 4x4 for some of the roads I go on, and there are a few beaches up here to drive on too!)
But hey, when its free, and I can use it anywhere in the state, You take what you're given!

Cheers

Well, last time I posted I had a different car... my new car ('00 Ford Econovan Maxi) runs regular. And I'm heavily considering going LPG.

Ive only ever used optimax 98 octane in the ED so im not sure how ultimate goes but i found that with the capri i couldnt run vortex because it would run like s**t, shell was a bit better but not by enough and ultimate did the trick and 91 was a big no no because it wouldnt take anything under 97.
