Chinese companies are fantastic to deal with, and that's why they get the sales.

Just had a look at Ford Uk website
You can still buy Fiesta (including a raised Active model) Focus Puma Kuga (Escape) S Max
Mach E Mustang Electric Explorer Transit and Tourneau (looks like a VW Caddy re badge)

Fiesta and Focus finish soon so there go Ford s cheaper cars - guess Euro folks will buy other brands and Chinese instead.

Ford dealers here can sell you any type of car you want as long as its Ranger Everest Mach E and Mustang and Transit oh wait cant source Mustang for another six months.

What a sad end to the era of Ford Euro s Cortina Anglia Escort Sierra Mondeo Fiesta Focus Puma apologies for models missed all great cars all gone -the Ford Euro car buyer in Aus is left with zero.

I dont want Ranger-Everest-Mustang neither does Franco.

Same as i posted a little while ago except i looked at FoA/Ford US.

As for Euro Fords, spent a bit of time owning an LV XR5T and Mk3 focus ST, and sat in driven various other Euro Fords in that time
Light years ahead of anything AU built. Euro Fords just had that, i dunno 'feel'. Not to mention how well they drove, we've lost a lot since Ford have killed most/all of em off.
Sure the Ranger/everest/mustang are suitable for many, but none of em do anything for me really.
No new Fords for me, but im sure they'll 25 rangers for my non sale

Yeah i agree.
But add a 2024 XR6 Turbo in the mix, that counts me out for a Euro a little. Both pipe dreams now sadly. They've lost me.

Does absolutely nothing for me, the inline turbo 6 wouldnt even be enough to get one even if it came here.
I cant remember the last time i seen a puma on the road, im sure they are a decent car and my time in Euro fords tells me it probably is.

too bad
I was looking at this for the missus, but there just aren't any around. She ended up getting a Nissan Joke instead.

Does Ford still actually have an office in Australia? Because "Ford Australia" now just seems to be a running joke. They've been doing the same thing for years (decades?) now:
1. Get a Good Car
2. Don't bother marketing it
3. Don't carry any stock
4. Axe it because it isn't selling well enough

The Puma is apparently very popular in the UK, so it's not like they're going to stop making RHD versions.

I think you're mistaken good sir,

There's no Ford Australia, only 'Ford Ute'

Have to wonder what will happen, in a cycle or two, when the Ranger is nolonger king of the heap? Will Ford simply follow Holden out the door?

I'd say its the supply that has been the issue and no-one here from FoMoCo Au will ever say anything officially
E.g.
Escape is released and immediately no stock becomes available as I ordered one and it was on the boat rounding Freemantle one year after I ordered and then cancelled.
Ford Transit large van is updated and E version released yet no stock arrives and stop sale put in place.
Puma never gets full range and limited supply all along.
Ford Focus gets dropped, probably class leader from my actual drives.
Ford Fiesta gets dropped, even more likely class leader.
Ford Transit Custom trickles in like a small crack in a steel tank, just as van sales should go up due to growth in home deliveries and other competitor models not being updated as quickly as planned, plus it is at the top of it's class segment as well.
Ironically today I hear an ad saying Transit Custom stock is available off the floor and the all-new model is just starting to show up in showrooms at the same time
And yes pricing by the locals for Mustang Mach E and Edge compared to opposition products is/was plain stupid, as well as not offering a higher performance version just as that type of vehicle gained popularity at the time.

That’s odd. Just asked Ford about when there will be more details about the Puma Electric and this is what they said

Quote:
In relation to your enquiry, Ford Australia has no confirmed plans at this stage to expand our current product range to include the Ford Puma Electric.

Your comments will be directed to our design teams who will utilise this feedback to help us continually build excellent products for the future.
So no electric version either? Confused.

Ha, I got the exact same response when I asked if Ford was going to offer single-cab chassis next-gen Ranger. I asked my salesman a week later and they told me that they already had them in stock and ready to go.

Ford management have no idea what they are doing, and that flows through to the rest of their employees, right down to the customer service department.

CRC is run outside of Ford. Its basically a marketing company Ford pay each month to filter customer complaints. It then has to liaise with people with in Ford.

Most of the staff at CRC wouldn't know a Ford from a Toyota so expecting anything technical from them would be a waste of time.

There’s an Electric SUV expo in August and I basically asked if they were going to have a Puma Electric there given they made an official announcement in April 2023 and nothing since thought they might have something. No doubt lots of potential buyers will be there.

I’m not in the market but thought it might be fun to have a look at where the industry seems to be heading. Dad took me to the international car expo in 2006 at the Melbourne Exhibition Center and obviously being a kid wasn’t in the market but had a good time, haha.
