Guess you dont know much about the ST name then? Never said it would hurt anyone at all, except maybe the sales.
With the ST/RS name there has never been (IIRC) an automatic version. I, IMO would like to see that continue.

Anyway, there is no auto. Lets not ruin the thread with the auto debate again, theres no auto. Life goes on.

So if you don't know the history of the name, then you shouldn't be looking?

What % of Aussie buyers know the history of something built on the otherside of the world? People like what they see and what you get for your money and how well it goes. I think most people who arn't clued up will ask their dealer, "Is this the new XR5"

Nah i didnt mean it like that, although it probably came across that way.

I only used that as one part of my argument, i guess its the purist coming out in me.

I know plenty about the name. Times change, so do car specifications. Isn't Ferrari abandoning manual transmissions altogether? I'd say they have more of a "tradition" than Focus ST's.

But, as you said, it's manual only, and there's nothing wrong with that if maximum sales numbers aren't necessary to making a good return on your investment.

Ferrari and Lamborghini no longer do manuals or are about to replace them, and the next Porsche 911 GT3 will be PDK.

The manual is an endangered species.
