I find that higher octane fuel gets me better mileage in a 91' EB, but then I'm running a fair bit of ignition timing, and find that I get light pinging on 91 octane. Fuel quality also pays a large part, with a particularly bad batch netting me a 20L/100km as opposed to the normal 10-12L/100kms. Never going back there again!
As for the fuel consumption VS speed issue, my time is worth a hell of a lot more than 4 litres of fuel potentially saved...! :P |

on the way up to sydney earlier this year it was more fuel efficent to cruise at above 110 then to cruise at 110. at 110 the tl was chewing up 9.7 l per100 kms and at above that it was as low as 8.3 L per 100 kms. it was a nice cruise. NSW tell you when the cameras are. they just need to tell you were the cops are then it will be a better cruise.
