That they have, in fact, I have two of them in the truck. Full HD 1920 x 1080. They even have a speed readout. So when I’m overtaking some clown, and they decide to play funny buggers, I can now prove it.

I’m just itching for someone to ring the cops on me so I can ram the footage up their Khyber sideways.

About time...do it everywhere.
One that annoys the hell out of me is the looooong 90kph section of Highway One from Gympie way down to the four lane where it becomes 110...it's single lane each way, no overtaking allowed, and if someone up front wants to sit on, say, 70kph as happened to us, then the whole couple of kilometers of cars behind them has to do so as well because there's "no overtaking allowed". ..

I think this only applies on two way roads. Rather idiotic to accelerate to block another car trying to move back from the wrong side of the road.

My main concern with this 'blitz' is why it just isn't policed all the time. It's not like they've only just legislated against this behaviour, so why do they need to target it specifically now?

A few months ago, one of the current affair shows interviewed a female P plater because she claimed to have been fined for driving too slow. She still didn't understand that it wasn't her speed she was fined for, but for failing to keep left.

" The keep left rule needs to be enforced more.
Hell ... the governments should push it ... they'd get more revenue out of it than "speeding" drivers."

In NSW they would raise atleast 10 times the revenue they do from speeding cameras and that's a conservative estimate .

They have on NSW freeways and highways and it makes NO difference whatsoever .

[QUOTE=muso]I think it is now officially an offence to accelerate if being overtaken,

The people who do this on single lane country roads particularly should be charged with attempted murder and should do serious gaol time for it , No if's , NO buts , NO maybes .

It has been an offence for quite some time to accelerate when being overtaken. In NSW anyway.

My XR6T whooshes past these dangerous idiots who speed up when overtaking on country roads but I'd certainly like to thump them!!!
If it can be proven and there was an accident it could even be manslaughter but more than likely dangerous driving.

Looks like its all talk, to make us think they are doing something useful for a change. I am driving Vic highways, and havnt seen anything but cops hiding trying to catch safe speeders.

This...
I got done years ago and lost my licence for 6 months because 2 idiots did this to me. Rather than merge into them as there was on coming traffic, I booted it to get around them. That on coming traffic was an unmarked cop car.
Do you think they cared less about what the other drivers did..........no chance.

Took it to court, Magistrate agreed with me, reduced the fine but unfortunately here in Vic, the suspensions are mandatory and he had to suspend it for 6 months
Learned some very valuable lessons from all of that.

I'm much better informed now about what to say or do if (when) pulled over.

I wish they would run a blitz along Sth Gippy hwy for all the people that think they are too important to stick to the normal lanes on the road and use the emergency lanes instead.

Nothing gets you more than seeing the same people doing the same thing every trip. Once is bad enough, but everyday makes me nearly explode.

My really bad one was a girl on Ps, nsw plates on the m1 doing 80 at 100 zone. That's a 3 lane section too and not at a busy time. Need a blitz in Brisbane too real bad.

Mad, get a photo or video of them doing it if they do it regularly, I have sometimes photograph really bad drivers (when my son is in the car so he can work the mobile phone camera) I see an 1100cc motorbike use the bicycle lane at 60 kph frequently in the mornings along Marion rd to jump the traffic, pretty dangerous considering it's a bicycle lane it's only a matter of time before someone turning off Marion rd doesn't see him.

But I don't mind the slow trucks or graders that use the emergency stopping lane to prevent holding up traffic going up cement hill Brighton, these people are great and considerate of others

I can remember being told off by a driving instructor for not getting over to the left lane quick enough on the South Eastern Freeway in 1979 when I was 16 and having driving lessons. The Keep left unless overtaking signs were there then as well....knowing SA they are probably the very same signs even with the Freeway upgrade!

I think the Keep Left or Keep Right (USA) rule has applied for decades on highways above 80 kph or 50 mph (USA)
