Hasnt anyone picked up that you can almost get a b series GT for $20k??
290kw vs a claimed 200kw (eb was critiqued in its day for not making the advertised power) It leaves the eb gt into the mid teens at best in value. I like them but maybe thats all they are worth? $15k ish |

BA GT values have no relevance to the EB KW numbers definitely have no relevance to any cars value One is a numbered limited release, and one is just a regular model built without restriction over about 5 years (BA - BF) and is still going with the FG. Aint hard to work out which is more collectable, regardless of current values, KW figures, which one you think looks better, or which one you'd prefer to drive. |

Go buy one then. You cant say that a GT buyer wont compare the two and evaluate? Ill buy a B series GT for similar money and we will both be happy. |

What you are saying, is the more kw's, the more expensive the car? I guess a Bathurst Cobra must only be worth as much as an EB GT too then? The EB GT was a low volume production, not produced for everyone who wanted one like the new ones, hence why the B series onwards build no's have a million zeros in front of them? |

auction ended with no bids! Is this all these cars are worth now? Last time I looked people were asking $40k for a good example.

if it hasn't been bidded on, then it's probably not even worth that!
Nah seriously, there's just no coin out there, people are nervous to part with any coin it seems! Thats what it's all really about

They're nit the GT to buy if your after outright power, even though they would flog most early ones without raising a sweat.
I think the economy is playing a big part in current selling prices. There just isn't the money around like there used to be." |

That's true but not really talking about being a performance car, just comparing both EB And EL GT claimed power output. Seems the EB wasn't acceptable as the claimed power was below 200kw yet the EL is acceptable but Riogt pointed out the engines are identical including cam. Interesting. Does anyone know how Tickford got the power or did they just round it up to the nearest 200kw rating? I always wanted an EB GT but the more I look at EL GT's I think I want one of those instead |

Tickford were able to put alot more time, testing and effort into the EL
GT... from the suspension, tyres, right upto the gearbox and motor..

By the time the EL came out, Tickford had the funds and ford had the trust in them to go wilder.
Thank god they did! The EL GT, T3, and current 5.0 GT's are all great examples of engineering excellence since the re-intruduction of the V8.

EB and EL are meant to have the same power. ED sprint is close so Tickford didn't exactly go wild until T3. And even then it was only where it should be so not exactly wild either.
I remember when the EB GT came out I was in year 12 at school. I read everything about them in hope I'd buy one 1 day. Well I ended up buying the VP GTS instead. Great car, great power delivery but still would like a GT one day |

I think what let the EB GT down was the exhaust, it had the same nasty crushed headers as the base model.
And remember it still had a 3.27 diff

Ok, I talked to the owner, seemed genuine. Then I had the EB GT inspected by a independent third party, there was a couple of minor issues but all seemed good. Negotiated price with owner who the removed from EBay as I agreed to purchase car, seeing I was from interstate I was buying sight unseen. Owner needed quick cash so I was arranging a secure transfer and freight, then owner rings me up and says car is no longer for sale. Anyway cost me a few dollars for inspections etc, waiting for owner to reimburse me as he said he would. Not exactly happy about owner not completing deal, but hey didn't have a contract on car, offered a deposit to owner who said didn't need to do that ad we had a agreement. A little cranky as I was mucked around a bit, but he did say his reason for sale had changed so didn't need to sell. I wonder what would have happened if I just bid on car and won auction?

We dont know how much the owner of the Cardinal Red GT wants for it, cause at $16,800 and 10 bids the reserve still hasn't been met.
The black one in the OP was at $16,800 with no reserve, but when it came to the crunch, he didn't sell it did he... |

Was it 250 EB GT's made, Vs how many thousand BA/F GT's.
Rareness is definately a factor in terms of value and collectability. Part of the reason why the PhIII is worth so much, only 300 were built and probably only half of them still exist. |

isnt the old story "only 300 were built and approx 700 survive today" if you go by the amount of people whos uncle brothers mates dogs cousins owned a phase 3, and sold in the 80s for stuff all, there must have been thousands of the things. |
