Fast 5 (fast and furious 5) where they pull the bank vault through the streets of Rio - made me cringe through the whole scene seeing 2 chargers pull a 5t+ vault like it was an empty box trailer (wheels included)!!

Between the dead weight and friction i'd be surprised if they even got it started..

Yeah that's the first race in the original. The computer said he damaged the manifold. The bizarre thing though is why was the floor cut out and a seperate bit of metal put in anyway? Surely they could of thought of something better to come off.

That was a rocket motor attached to the rear. If you look closely, the driver's seat is empty too.
You will also note it has no engine.

Driven...the whole movie was a mistake...

There's a scene where one of the champ cars lands in a lake. The fuel in the water ignites. Such a shame that Champ Car ran on Ethanol, which is Water soluable

There are also crash scenes where you can clearly see that the cars are steel tube mock ups

Or the scene where they hop in for an impromptu drive and manage to start them, considering they need an external starter to fire them up.

Worse...Racing...Movie...Ever!

The Fast and The Furious 1 at the end when he chases the 2 guys on the bikes then does the drag with the charger, over those 5 minutes he uses 3 shots of nitrous from a 2 shot system. Recharge on the go maybe???

The race goes for 1:40 most of which is slow motion or cut away.
The nitrous is used twice (right button and then left)

So don't know what movie you watched.

I was referring to the 1 shot he used to catch up to the bikes (before the drag race) then the 2 shots during the race. Hence the reference to 5 minutes

I know it's not really a 'mistake', but it makes me cringe every time I see it and spoils an otherwise perfect movie. The bit in Ronin where they add fake burnout smoke to the Mercedes wheel spin scene...

The biggest car movie mistake IMHO was actually producing fast and the furious 1-6

Why?

Good action, nice perve and cars! No one else is having a good crack at a car movie...most that have came out in the past ten years "borrow" alot from the ff franchise.

Not the worst movies anyway...RPM was a pile of crap compared to f&f...

Have you seen the movie called "200 MPH" which has to be one of the worst copies of F&F?

It was mentioned in another thread and I just had to look it up. It only has one star on IMDB!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoUHFrrB6Co Check out the real Chevy Volt at 1:50

Can't believe such a movie could exist.

That looks like one of the worst movies ever made, terrible cgi and acting and even tho it's nit picky a 370z would have no chance against a GTR

That was before I saw the "fatal crash" that supposedly killed the GT-R driver.

I can not describe how hard I laughed the moment I saw the brilliant special effects.

Just saw Fast and Furious 6.
What a waste of 1 1/2 hours.
Totally implausable for every scene
They don't even try and get the tech talk right now either.
Custom car that is a getaway vehicle sounds like a formula 1 car so the hero says it must be powered with a turbo diesel
Don't waste your money on this one

The last stand, basically one massive Chevy ad. There is zr1 with 1000hp that never runs out of fuel and is indestructible after it flips a 2tonne SUV. The last chase scene where arnie is driving a zl1 camero and they switch to him driving and he is sitting on ss seats.

Last action hero. Police car goes up and you can clearly see the device they used to launch it in the air.

Mission Impossible 2 was bad for that.

Same movie also had the bike's tires change from road tires to nobbies for the beach scene

WHY?

The action is week and unrealistic,

the cars that aren't auto salon / rice, aren't enough to carry even the trailer for the movie.

It's technically inaccurate to the point of just being stupid

But there is the perv I'll give you that, but again not enough to carry the movie, if it's a perv your after just watch the music channel and save your $20

So was Star Wars. And just about not only ever car movie, but just about every action movie.

Want realisim and technical accuracy, watch a doco.

Just remembered another scene... Transporter 3 I think it is, where he lets the air out of the tires to fill some bags up to make flotation devices, raising the car out of the water lol

Theres always the classic Fast and Furious cars with 3 foot flames constantly coming out the exhaust with or without NOS.. Then theres the nitrous shot and the boost gauge suddenly shoots up 10 psi or more.

F&F6. Not necessarily a mistake, but was baffled why the girl was driving a LHD Jensen. Why not just buy a RHD one seeing as she is in England anyway? The car chases a full of holes too...why bother with nitrous V8s when an Astra police car can keep up easily? How do the end up in Battersea without crossing the river (anorak, I know)? When the Escort jumps the bridge it is very nose down, but still lands nicely. The Escort ramming the Mustang but not getting any damage to the front end. And how long was that runway? Besides that, it was actually an alright movie. Better to wait for it to come out on DVD though.
