A sequential twin turbo version of the F6 Typhoon with adjustable race-type suspension and less weight is what they need....

Hmm Im sure FPV have a few tricks up their sleave to try and hold back the e series, how much depth they have is another question.

I think the name is awesome though; sounds tough!

It will not be a coupe - Ford will not splash the cash.
It will not be a Fairlane as Ford have canned LWB - unless they just want to get rid of LWB shells.

My money is on the FPV Territory.

Don't like the name - tempest sounds to similar to temptress.

My guess is a hot fairmont/fairlane

Why would you want twin-turbo though (becomes it sounds better?) - too complex, too heavy, Liberty B4 that was successful (not), and a lot of twin turbo GTR's swap to a single turbo as their first mod. It'd be going backwards IMO.

Sounds quite interesting.

Would love to see a wagon or a Fairlane based FPV.

FPV just need a F8 now. :

Maybe you should let BMW know of this before they release their new 335i, twin-turbo 3.0 (oops....too late)
I have a B4 and yes, I kind of agree with you, being a sequential setup is not the best, but the GTR, a single turbo conversion is usually done only when chasing big, big kw's 400+ atw.

I'm hoping like 75% of people who have replied here that it's gonna be an FPV Territory. There would be no other car going that would be anything like it.

I see your point, there is no precedence for this well apart from....

GT -> GT-P
Pursuit -> Super Pursuit.

The "enhanced" version of the Typhoon has been mentioned MANY times to MANY people by FPV employees.

A Territory has been denied, but marketing people occaisionally "embellish" the truth.

Just recently an almost identical thread appeared where all the gurus assured us that the Force8 was actually a supercharged V8 GTHO because that was their fantasy. Statements by people who actually KNEW what it was were ignored or lambasted.

Still this is all conjecture, the F6 Tempest despite all the crystal balling and soothsaying will be EXACTLY whatever FPV have decided it will be with the specs that THEY have decided to be released whenever THEY decide to for a price that THEY have set.

Photn no point you are preaching to the wrong crowd, who are all "I drive a big six and 8 and nothing compares to it and all the rest are beneath me" There mentality is set on one thing. It wont change. Its all Falcon this Territory that.

But hey if thats what is selling then I cant really complain, its just there are other cars out there that will put em to shame. Who wants a tissue....

Back on topic....

I believe the only logical would be to F6 the Territory... As they have already added the luxo cars (Force 6 & 8)... what is left?? A coupe?? Damn that would be nice but i dont think they would put a turbo in that!

Isnt it possible this could be the turbo equivalent of the HSV GTS?
It seems FPV cant/wont/dont want to/dont think they need to upgrade the power of the V8s, and it would be much easier to get more power out of the Typhoons engine. Somewhat of a GT*O type car.

So if what Gadgetman said, and what Spoolman has posted is true, we are gonna see another sedan variant.

Is it me or are FPV getting even more slack???

I agree with all you have said. Some very valid points. FPV has to get some cred back short term. (take the sting out of the VE HSV range and the only temporary fix i believe is to build a quicker vehicle and get it out on the market quick. Its sad that straight line performance gets so much attention but at the end of the day, most punters who buy these things do care about bragging rights.

Best Regards

Hopefully its something to get excited over and not just a F6 ute or sedan with slightly different stripes/spoilers/interior.

FPV Terrier or Fairlane would be cool as!

Tempest sounds to me like a cheap cars name.

Id like to see a tuned version of the Typhoon. Holden can have their 307kw V8's ford will have a 370kw 6cylinder Turbo.

Id say the Tempest name is more closly retaled to the Typhoon than the Tornado. Definition of Typhoon: 2. a violent storm or tempest of India.

Id get my 5cents its a typhoon based car

Would that make it the world's most 6 Cylinder Turbo? It would come awfully ****ing close wouldnt it?

That would be absolutely insane.

Something about a 370Kw Turbo 6, tickles my fancy and I'm a V8 guy.

Only if Holden would make a 6, half as impressive. (Performance wise)

Take 100kw off your ford figure and you have a deal. Ford are not looking at making a brand new car, they are going to spice up an existing car with an existing motor for the sake of saving big bucks and generating new interest. Developing the 6 to put out 370kw reliably will cost millions, and it just aint ever going to happen. Not only that, ford would likely be liable for suit should some idiot get behind the wheel of a 370kw machine and kill someone, as ADR's would need to be bent, broken and buggered to allow that to happen. In short, far too many bucks for ford to touch it.
Most likely is the existing FPV 6 in a fairlane or territory - keeping in the same vein as the force cars.

My vote is for an F6 (or simlar) type terri, if it is i think it will be a waste of money just like the turbo territory, i just dont see why anyone would want to buy an I6T terri o dont see the point. But i think im probably the only person on here that thinks this way AWD Terri Ghia is jut fine, ford should better spend their resources and cash
