the two sensors on the T5 are reverse switch and neutral switch, i know what the reverse switch does, but what does the neutral switch do.

the top switch on the gear box is ur neutral switch, it stop u from starting ur car if it is in gear. i disabled mine by bridging the wires. mal wood are pretty good with delivery, i ordered mine at 3ish oclock and got it first thing next morning.

the neutral switch is there to stop the car from being started in gear without the clutch switch enabled.

Basically, if the car is in gear, with the clutch in, it will start.

If it's in gear, without the clutch in, it won't start.

nice. just clutch cable to remove now, and then can wheel the beast out 'o the shed. :evil_laug

that clutch looks likes it been thru a bit of heat? like red hot heat from when they tried to do a burnout and just burnt the clutch... maybe? lol

Yeah mate, it's good. Mal wood are a top operation. See how well the pin is designed? You could make your own one, but it wouldn't be as good as that one. Plus it'd take you longer and probably end up being more expensive in time.

Hope it all goes in alright. It's worth it in the end. I won't forget the feeling i had when i had a friction point with the cart, and it moved. It was aweeeeeeeeeesome!

Cool pin kit installed!

ok, kit installed, took all of 15 minutes.. :1syellow1

pedal matches with auto pedal perfectly.. although i have the manual brake pedal, might as well change it, but to get to clip on brake pin i need to unbolt a circuit box of some sort.. i'll do this later tonight.

but yeah the pin kit is well made, shipped quickly and fits perfectly.. really simple install and feels strong.

will fire up camera phone after and get a pic or two.. :1syellow1

also whacked the clutch cable in and hooked it up to the pedal, just looped and cable tied it in the engine bay for now, so i'm ready for the gearbox next.. just waiting for a shifter boot that i got on ebay.. (bay ford?).. so that when i install it all it's a nice finish.

no, i did not say anywhere in my post that they are exactly the same, what i did say is that i run an auto comp with no problems, IE revs hanging.

my conversion is finished, the only thing that gave me the s@#ts was the dicky little clip on the clutch pedal that holds the cable, what a piece of c^&p they are. finally did some home mods to it and it worked a treat. i love the 5 speed, i have 3.91 diff gears too!!! great fun

i got my shifter boot off ebay today. it clips right in where the auto section clips in.. this is gonna be a sweet idea swapping this manual in once it's done.. just have to pick up spigot from autobarn tonight.. then i think i have everything.. except for the resistor for the temp sensor wiring..

you dont need to, its a bit of a squeeze but ive never unbolted the fuse box to do it, even with the abs module up there its even tighter but still can be done

You don't need to change the brake pedal. Just hacksaw/airsaw the auto one.

The brake pedal is one of the most awful things to change. I rate it in the top 10 "**** jobs i hate performing on a falcon", along with parcel shelf work, and changing diffs.

Just airsaw/hack saw the goddam brake pedal!

no it will be very tight, would be like that from factory, i used a hammer in there but had to move the abs module to do it, try getting a socket on it (just to sit on it not to undo anything) and hit the socket with a hammer so that the socket lets you hit it without hitting the actual pedal box if u kno what i mean. its not THAT easy but its so much quicker then replacing the pedal box

OR u can do what has been mentioned and cut the pedal off on 1 side or grab the manual one and compare it to ur auto one for were to cut it, IIRC they are very similar arm lengths/bends just gotta know were to cut the pedal, thats even easier, but use a hacksaw or a airsaw not a grinder because it will stuff ur carpet.

Also try to make sure that you have plenty of time to do the conversion and that you get everything right, it's no fun continually getting back under your car to fix stuff ups, especially when they are someone else's stuff ups.
