What a great day. Thank you to all the people who organised it. Found it most enjoyable. Dyno's really show up faults, which is good, bought a new coil, was disappointed with my kilowatt rating but after studying my previous runs, found my Newton meters had increased from 333 to 375 before the Dyno chart dived at 140kph . Hopefully the coil will fix it. Was very impressed with a lot of the 6's there. All in all, it was a first class exercise. Thanks again everybody.
I GOT A NEW coil |

I'm stoked, my car was running quite lean but still managed 156kw, I can't wait to see what it will pull with a tune and leaves plently of improvement for a new 1/4 mile pb.
Thanks to all the organisers for a great day.

well, I've just found out today was the hottest recorded day for December in 53 years.
will be great if we can have another one of these mid year next year when it's a bit cooler!

Yaggy, my AT was 35, IT 42. I'll try to scan it up tonight after work I think their dyno was probably a little generous, but it wasn't pumping out rwmw figures. I'm stoked nonetheless with my 137.3rwkw reading!
syrK, you luffed my attending! Wayne and I watched the supercars afterwards and drank beer. Glorious beer! I got home pretty late last night lol... Josh, if you have any vids of mine on the rollers I'd be most appreciative Stupid me left the camera at home! Finally, congrats to all members who brought their hot girlfriends along too, you guys really made my day : |

I dont think the results were overly high, the temp as said above was damn hot, apparently it was almost a sauna in there. Cant wait to get it though, see what the good old "bum-o-meter" says.

I still think the results were generous considering the heat. Not "bullshit" results, but generous nonetheless. But dynos vary not only from place to place but day to day regarding calibration, make, and the techniques of the dyno operators during the runs.

I let that comment slide because i though it may have been a bit of friendly banter, but not the case.

Unfortunately, all dyno's are different.
That's why I dont really believe in the whole dyno warrior thing, however... if you dyno your car on the same dyno you will get consistant results in terms of power increases after modifications. They aren't gospel and a dyno reading certainly isn't something to brag about; but it certainly helps pick out problem areas.

exactly. No one here is saying that they are king shyte because of a dyno run.
This is what happened to my car this weekend. Dropped it off at Dalton's Friday night, was working basically all weekend so I organised them to move it around for me. Car gets dyno'd Saturday morning, first thing. According to Heljas (and I can confirm soon as Im picking it up at 1ish) it pulled 111rwkw's completely stock. It was then taken to the exhaust shop to be fitted up with my hybrid system. Car is then Dyno'd Sunday morning and pulls 127rwkw's. So thats a ~16rwkw gain, which is pretty normal I thought for a full exhaust system.

It's actually a pretty impressive gain ;) Not h-u-g-e, but greater than the average gain one expects.
Dezza, I guess it's fair enough you didn't attend. Your EA wouldn't have cleared the roof of the dyno shed anyway :P |
