I remember there was one of these sprintex blown 6's in Kalgoorlie, EB but, when the EB was a new car.
It died when it met a power pole !! We were on the "turps" and heard the crash, nice mess!!
I am quite sure that spintex in Perth were doing them.
As soon as I saw the bonnet scoop on your pics it brought back a few memories. It was a bit of a weapon, EB fairmont ghia, jarrah/burgondy in colour.

You sure the engine code was R? R means 3speed auto in the transmission section

Yes and no. I looked at it and expected to see a P, as i thought thats what the 3.9 was, and it looked mishapen, like an R. Whether or not it was either P or R I dont know but it looked definately more like an R to me.

Interesting thread. Someone give Mazpro a quick buzz and see if they know the history. The yellow pages says mazda, hyundai, and Ford servicing.

I thought that the most interesting part of teh car was the twin throttle bodies (both standard EA) going into the blower, with 2 extra injectors on either side. The dual-stage linkage setup of the throttle-bodies was pretty cool too. I would have thought 2 standard throttle bodies to have been far too big? Maybe the second throttle-body doesnt open entirely i guess. I'm am getting a ford engineer friend of mine to ask a few people at work if they know much about it. Off topic, but the lucky ***** got to drive the sandfire concept ute a couple of months back! (well, he moved it to another spot in the shed lol)

I remember something like this many years ago going through Fowles, their was a Fairlane and yes they are rare. The story i got at the time was that they were a special order job, I think it was a dealer fit/option not so much a factory job though, but it was at a bad time with fuel prices pretty high at the time that was what killed any interest in them.

Yes it was a Sprintex from memory too, almost bought it but didnt like the cloth interior on the fairlane.

If this is a factory/complianced car the plates alone are worth the 5k asking price.

Really, is Mr Plod going to know the diffrence between a sprintex or a 3.3L Whipple/2300KB?

If it's of the ones that I'm thinking, their should be a badge on the guards which should read 'twin screw supercharger', again it has been a while and the brain has copped quite some abuse in these years so forgive me if i'm wrong, but I know their was a badge.

I saw the car with Jared, and I agree with many: it feels too good to pass up. It was a family car, not flogged, so i'd assume that it shouldn't need too much $$$ poured into it before it FLIES, so as a project, it could be a good'n.

Today was a PDO at the plant but everyone will be back tomorrow, I'll see what I can find out, hopefully have something soon, as I said in an old post, some of the blokes I work with were around at the EA launch and still worship the old girls, so hopefully I'll get something from them

Through the plant (dodging forklifts) and around the outside to the truck, it was sick (sunk my foot into it outside along the side of the plant and it went HARD and sounded awsome). The odometer is proof noone has driven this it much further, i've seen people buy "New" cars from the showroom with more K's

I only have one more picture available from photobucket, the rest are all on another computer back at the workshop (3hrs from here). The plumbing basically consists of a 90-degree bend of pipe about 10" long, looks to be cast and quite thick going straight into a standard MPFI manifold. There are 6 standard injectors, plus an additional two in the throttlebody mount* (see attached pic). I looked all over the car for any other build plates, and the only thing I noticed was the extra stampings on the ADR plate.

The car came with genie extractors, some engine management I've never heard of, pedders "stage 1" suspension, electric thermo fans, heavy duty clutch, and what appeared to be a 3" exhaust (couldn't see if it was the whole length or just the last section).

I am getting the car looked over in the next week by a mechanic to see how close to RWC it is. It would need new thermo's (no shroud), new consumables, a rocker cover gasket, and a complete going over of the engine bay. It looks to have some shoddy wiring under the dash near the aftermarket computer, which I am assuming needs to be at least tidied up for RWC. The interior probably needs attending to (seat belts dont work etc) but the cost of all of these parts isnt that large, and the RWC doesnt cost me anything.

Stay tuned for further updates.

Haha, I wish I could afford a Kenne Bell or Whipple to do a quick switch-a-roo if I bought it :P

EDIT: forgot to attach pic
