I see a lot of us have owned or still own Escorts, good stuff!

Ok, my turn:
  • 1982 Nissan Pulsar (5 door hatchback, 1.6 (or was it 1.5? can't remember) engine, 3spd auto) - same Pulsar as LuvinmyEB had, given to me as first car, drove it to the milk bar a couple of times, decided it wasn't worth fixing, acuired the '80 Escort and ended up swapping pulsar for the '76 Escort...
  • 1980 Ford Mk II Escort (2 door, 1.6 engine, 4spd manual) - still got awaiting engine and transmission rebuild and rust repair. Great looking car, was considering selling it for a while, but can't bear to part with it, besides you don't see too many 2 door Escorts around anymore...
  • 1976 Ford Mk II Escort GL Rally pack (4 door, 2.0 engine, 4spd manual) - awaiting new windscreen and minor repairs, then getting RWC and being registered after spending the last few years working on it.

3 cars all up, and I've had my Ps for just over 2 years now...

Hmm, 1982, 1980, 1976... So next car should be a 1968 model... But for now I'm more then happy with my Mk II Escorts.

1990 EAII Fairmont Ghia - POS! Traded in for $2k after replacing the engine and 2 gearboxes, I was stoked.

1992 EBII Fairmont - Excellent car, wish I never sold it. Only had 133,000k's on it when I bought it in 2003.

2000 AUII Forte - Great car, loved the juice though! Traded down.

1992 AX Telstar 2.5L V6 - Bloody quick car in stock form, I'd have to say it'd do a mid 15. Getting a bit long in the tooth though, it's got 250,000k's on it, I'll be looking at upgrading some time in the near furture.

Yeah, this thread hurts

- '70something F-100, left hand drive, hand-me-down, rooted 400M, bulk rust, many problems, died violently on the way to Sydney in Grade 12 after about 2 months ownership... replaced with
- VK Calais - Bought in Tamworth for $100. Best value car ever. Given to ex, who later replaced the front grille with a kangaroo mascot, writing the car off.
- EA Fairmont - B&S Spec, awesome daily hack (had air con!). Still occasionally spotted being flogged around the eastern suburbs.
- '72 HQ Kingswood. Should never have sold this car. Written off by a bogan in a dirty HSV cap a week after I handed him the keys. My only consolation was that he hadn't insured it yet. Suffer, ********!
- '77 Fairlane Marquis... Still driving her.

Plus some paddock cars (Falcons, Kingswoods, Mini Moke, blah...) and a few bikes (all Honda's)

1979 Mk II Ford Escort Ghia 2.0 Litre.
Started out Mint Glaze Green with a Black Vinyl Roof. Ended up Hermitage Red, no Vinyl Roof, all the Blackout Rallye Pack (tm) bits (Bumperettes, Driving Lights, Front & Rear Spoilers), retrimmed velour interior & 13" x 6" Mililite Style wheels. Cool little car. I ended up selling it to my Brother.

1995 EF Ford Falcon XR6.
Oredered in December 1994, eventuallt took delivery in May 1995. Navy Blue, 5 Speed, A/C, Cruise 16" Wheels & Body Kit. If I had to wait any longer it would have been an XR8. Still got it. Does it's job as the Daily Driver (tm) and will consistently do 15.1 over the 1/4 mile.

1974 XB Falcon GT Sedan.
Can't remember exactly when I got it, probably late 1997. Apollo Blue in colour with Silver Accents. Factory options include A/C, Cloth Trim (yay), Rear Window Demister & Sunroof. Still got it too, just goesa little better than standard now.

;)

Oh geez, here we go. Cars in bold I wish I still had.

'76 Toyota Corona. (Not a car I wanted to be seen in. Tuff little car, couldn't kill it)
'75 XB Fairmont GS 302 auto. (Good car, should have kept it)
'77 XC Fairmont 302 auto. (Looked good, went bad. Mistake)
'72 XA GT 351 4spd. (Stolen, should've stayed in bed that day. Hope the thieves died of **** cancer or something horrible and painful)
'67 VC Valiant Wagon. (A registered paddock bomb!!)
'70 VF VIP Valiant 318 auto. (Rust killed it in the end. great car, fond memories)
'72 XA GS 250 4spd. (Never had to lay a spanner on it. Builders expanding foam was holding the rusty rear quarters together!!)
'73 XB Falcon 500 351 4spd. (This was to be the big project, good car but was a magnet for other cars. Got hit up the **** more times than George Michael and finished being sideswiped by a truck)
'76 XB Fairmont 250 4spd. (Never really felt anything for this car, no idea why. Karma??)
'90 Laser TX3 KE 4spd. (Very cool little car, could just chuck it around the twisty bits. Chicks liked it too!!)
'78 XC Fairmont GXL 302 auto. (Great car in almost mint condition. Met a violent end with a hi-ace van embedded in the front. The coppers charged the other guy)
'71 XY Fairmont GS 351 auto. (Good car but sold to buy a house)
'88 EA Fairmont Ghia. (Biggest shitbox I've ever owned. Huge mistake)
'94 ED Fairmont Ghia. (Second biggest shitbox I've ever owned. Paid big bikkies for this as a low Km 1 owner. Good for 3 years then fell apart in 4th year!!)
'98 AU XR6 auto. (Good car, Ford were on their last chance with this one. Getting long in the tooth and just HAD to have the BA)

This represents 22 years of motoring and a SHITLOAD of $$$ down the gurgler. What have I learned from this?? Stuff-all 'cause I'm looking for a coupe now!!
