i sell these badges and grilles at work.

its probably a 50;50 ratio of them getting fitted to v8s, alot go on sv6's

the worst thing i think iv ever had to do was sell a guy with a sv6 a chev grille and then he came back the next day and bought all 6 litre badges etc,

but to be fair there are jsut as many around with fpv badges or fpv number plates on tickford cars or even base models, that really shits me

Isn't a Holden lovers best argument that "Holden is the Australian brand"? Seems ironic that these same people get rid of the Holden badge in favor for an American Chev badge then shove a southern cross on the back window.... Funny how they support the company that may/will send Holden down the gurgler.

Not white by any chance?

I support them on LS equipped cars nothing more nothing less, although it might stop GM going broke :

You have all missed the real reason for them putting Chev badges on.

They really are embarrassed to drive a Holden and by rebadging they hope people wont notice.

There was a small trend with GTO owners in the states doing Monaro "conversions".
I.E, Monaro bumper/grill, badges, wheel centres, interior pieces ectera.
Some even did swaps with Aussie Monaro owners.
So there should be one or two Monaros getting around in full Pontiac GTO regalia.

And on the "Body By Holden" bit, if you're lucky you may find an early Australian Model T or two with "Body By Holden" on it. :voldar02:

If you want a Chev, then buy one, it's incredibly lame to buy a car and change the 'badges' to make it look like something else.

There is a blue VE SV6 getting around Richmond, Sydney with Chev badges on it. Every time I see it I think "try hard"

I have also seen a Rodeo on Windsor rd with the same badges on the tailgate.

My wife and I were going into the CBD one Saturday night, where we came across a VR wagon, P plates, Milo tin and chev badges. The best part was the sound of the car when he kept putting his foot flat to the floor. The car sounded like a swarm of bees and went no where. He even wanted to give the turbo a run at a set of light. Maybe he did not spot the turbo badge on the back, or he had to much faith in the milo tin and chev badge.

Sorry, pretty much all these guys carry on about how great Holden is, yet they throw on Chevy badges. It does not show much pride in Holden and the brand they support.

A good friend of mine who is a rodder, tells me about the Chev guys who think it is cool to see a 350 in a Ford coupe/rod. If someone was to put a Clevo or a Windsor into a Chev rod, they would be the first to jump up and down.

As he says, a Chev belongs in a Chev, a Ford belongs in a Ford, and a hemi can go anywhere.

A far off dream would be to restore a Corvette and throw a Clevo in it. I could picture the result of that right now.

Like all things there is a reason behind it and recently i saw a pic on this forum of a Ford with a Holden Astra badge on it. I do own a 06 VZ SV6 Holden and if I were to have brought the SS V8 I would not have put a Chev badge on it. Each to their own I reckon.

Why aren't there a bunch of Falcon's running around with 'Mustang' badges on them, isn't that basically the same thing???

My brother had a VL and he put nissan patrol badges on it! It looked just right.
He soon got rid of it. More problems than it was worth besides the nissan donk.
Can you beleive some dash parts were held there with VELCRO!
What a horrible car.

Or I could put Lancer badges all over my Mirage...

The Chev badges are a lot more accessible/easily available now than they used to.

I had them on my VT but that was like 2001/2002, no one had them then, Holden dealers wouldnt sell them to you/denied they existed and the only way someone could get hold of them was go to a shop who purposely bought them from Middle East GM parts places and imported them back here :

Now every swinging dick with a Commodore has them >:-(
