Calling the next generation Ranger an F-100 is an interesting idea, especially if they aligned it to be similarly styled to the F-150. Imagine a Ranger sized version of this:

I too dont understand why they persist with the Ranger, are they made in LHD?

That corporate look should have come across from the start but perhaps they will wait for a fresh start, latest ranger seems to be a facelift.

Yeah, Ranger's just a waste of time, money and space, isn't it...

And yes, it is made in LHD, and pretty much sold everywhere except US/Canada... Even sold in Mexico...

F series has typically shared parts with E series, then T6 Ranger took Transit drivetrains. They may be some way from sharing body or frame parts but they could start sharing drivetrains and other systems. Who knows as well what doors Ford have opened for their next alluminum vehicle now that F series is going that direction.

Lol. it's only sold in 180 countries and built in 3 sites globally.

Hmm you missed the point fellas, the vehicle is fine, obviously, but why not make it look like the f series and call it a F whatever and sell it everywhere?

Why did they persist with the nameplate and style, not the segment.

Didn't they have to make the Ranger smaller than the F series so they could sell it into more countries...? Pretty sure I remember Asia required it to be narrower...

That, and developing cars off an existing platform for a large market is far more cost effective than developing a car off an orphan platform for a small market.

Yeah I think if we ever got a FGX Fairlane/LTD this is close to what it would look like.

Just imagine it with FG door skins (not window frames) and more of a space between the front wheel arch and the leading edge of the front door.

I'll be happy with a AWD large turbo engine version of the Taurus as our new Falcon, provided the suspension and steering was "retuned" by the Ford Australia engineers.

How would you know how it was tuned to begin with, without driving it? How would you know that the retune was better or worse without driving both?
