I like it. Does anyone else see a lot of Chrysler 300C in that front end?

I know... Too much. Maybe I'm used to the fairlanes we have here, but I think the front looks a bit "ugly" as much as I hate to say it...

2 + 2 is a bit of a pain, although I believe this is something that the Chinese require?

I'm just glad that Lincoln have gone away from the truly awful front end styling they've had for the last few years.

Which is a rip off of Bentley anyway.

Question Re: America's Fairlane - the 2016 Lincoln Continental Concept

"Road and Track caught up with the designers involved and got them to comment, which is a testament to their feelings. These Bentley designers are standing by their statements.

Asked to elaborate, Donckerwolke told us: “This is not respectable. Such a copy is giving a bad name to the car-design world.” And his exterior design chief, Sangyup Lee, who described the Lincoln as “a joke, seriously,” added, “It is very disappointing, especially for an exclusive brand like Lincoln.”

There are a few takeaways from these exchanges.

First is that this is a hilariously public diss from one car designer to another.

Second is that while it’s great Lincoln is getting back into the big luxury sedan market in a serious way, their new Continental isn’t exactly what you would call distinctive.

You, personally, might not think the new Continental looks like a Bentley. But if not, you probably think it looks like a big Jaguar. And if not a Jaguar then that recent Audi concept. And if not that Audi then a top-of-the-line Hyundai.

The point is not what the car the new Lincoln is cribbing from. The point is that the Lincoln’s design isn’t a standout. It sorta kinda looks like any number of other cars in its segment. It looks like 2015 Generic Luxury Car, only with more chrome."

Yep, looks like the Chrysler 300C got out and gave it to an Audi

Not bad though.

Boot opening height would be impractical these days, that would have to be fixed.

Also like the "E doors" (prob end up like an E Series door handle, BROKEN)

Rumours are that it's most likely FWD/AWD.

Rumours also persist that Lincoln may be looking to create an all new RWD platform for a future Continental and some other variants.

In my opinion Lincoln will not be taken seriously as a luxury brand until they do. Sales are tiny at the moment on just about the whole range, being slaughtered by Cadillac, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus etc. Makers whose big cars are RWD.

If they decide there's money in the big coupe market, a Mk IX built on the Mustang chassis could work. But it would need to be much bigger than the Mustang to be good.

Like it similar to a Bentley on the outside and the centre console seats remind me of the 1979 Lincoln town car

Personally I don't mind the concept; it's different enough not to resemble an carbon copy of the Bentley and it shows some DNA with Continentals of old. The grill leaves me cold - sure it's not bad, but it's lost that distinct nature of the out-going 'split wing' grill of the current range of Lincoln's.

While that grill was polarising, it still could of had a future if further evolved. Lincoln's argument that it (the split-wing grill) was hard to implement across different vehicle segments is rubbish.

Love it. Especially the retro yank blue interior. Not too sure about the chrome console and the Aussie sun though.

There's a little irony in a cliched joke about unoriginality. I'm just waiting for the guy who started it to call and ask for his joke back.
