Very true, if you can afford to spend 700k on a car, whats another 300k.

Its ridiculous because there is only a small market for them ie Australia/NZ. IMHO a GT500 Mustang for a 1/4 of that price would be a much better buy as they are in demand worldwide.

There's no doubt they are ridiculous prices, but if someone is willing to pay, then so be it.

If this one sells for a mill the next one will be 1.2mill and so on.

None of you people would think it was ridiculous if you owned one.

No winged sumps on Ph 3's.
Apparently there are around 180 known Ph 3's on record out of the original 300.
There would be very few that are imaculate unrestored cars. It would be a guess but maybe 20 or so would fit into that category.

Theres a mint GTHO - not a resto job either, original low ks- sitting at the FDC. If this resto is $1mil, what's an original untouched version worth?

The Phase 3 I mentioned before was in original condition.
The phase 1 that went for $750k was restored, but was the first HO of production line.

14.6 qtr times with 3.25 ratio. What would a phase 3 with 3.9 ratio option do down the qtr with a decent set of tyres on it.my guess would be low 13 s.

Yeah the official numbers weren't on the mark. I think they were claimed to be 280kw at the flywheel, but apparently they make over 300kw stock. Can someone confirm this?

I don't get it as well. I've said it in similar thread but I won't mention it again.

As for the price Phase 3's are going for, if I was cashed up there would be one in my garage.

Wonder which one out of the 2 phase 3's currently for sale will be the first to crack the million?

Imagine all the media, press, hype once this happens? If it happens of course.

I know all the history and yadda yadda, but considering you could get one of these for less than 100k a few years back, and I doubt the majority have crashed and burned since, why the massive hike?

I think it's ridiculous and taking advantage of people. I mean, most of the people buying them for this much are probably just getting them for investment reasons. People with way too much money already are just taking them up and putting them in a garage so in another 20 years they can make more money off them.

To me, if you're an enthusiast you'd be driving the things, at least occasionally, not keeping them locked up doing nothing, leave that for museums. Put someone in a worked 351 XY (GT or mock up) with same specs and you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference other than some badges.

Meh.

The claimed around 226kw (300HP) at the flywheel, but dynos were showing anywhere between 260-290kw.

If its the car I'm thinking of that's a 1000%+ profit in around 5 years.............not bad.

Personally it would be a Porsche Carrera GT and plenty of $ left over it for me, but it's not my car and good luck to whoever is purchasing.............

Comparing a HO to a new FPV is crazy. The majority of the population have never seen a real HO (despite what their brother's mate's cousin's step father told them they owned) whereas they can see all the FPV's they want at their local Coles car park.

I wouldn't pay $1m for any car, but to say it's overpriced because you can buy a new GTP that will thrash it is missing the point.

I love to have a Phase 3 but for 1 mil or even half of that I would rather spend it on a Ferrari or a Lambo.

I think a Phase 3 to be worth that much should either have 20km on the clock since new or it's only one in existence.
