Yes I did but as a driver yourself you should then know that any driver worth his salt would do anything to avoid a collision, so I think assumption justified :Reverend: lol

Guys the WRX was racing another 2 vehicles at the time, the bus driver swerved to avoid crushing them - I dont know what sort of human being would just run over a car load of people instead of at least trying to avoid the collision.

So i suppose if the crash involved an EA Falcon instead of an EVO in a street race then it would just be another unfortunate accident? Or a Ferrari that was bought by a self-made hardworking labourer?

And whats so outrageous about a young guy driving an EVO? Theyre a brand new car, so its a lot easier to get a loan for that than for a used car even if they cost $40grand or whatever. Even if thats not alot of money these days, hard work gets you places and buys nice things...

So the guys a bad driver, or maybe something happened that wasnt related to the race, either way its sad. EVOs do come with AWD, stability control and active yaw control, its not like he wouldve just randomly looped it either.

"BLOODY HOONS!!!" <---- settle down grandpa..

im not a truck driver, but i have seen plenty of rediculous things happen around trucks, heaps of people just cut trucks off, then jam the brakes on, like how dumb must you be, those trucks dont weight 900kg, its not gonna pull up like a scooter. you just feel like getting out and slapping the guy in the side of the head.

what is it with ricers and stupidity : the corner that where the car crashed is tight off camber right hander, *****, i sturggle at 65km when i have to miss the many trucks that attempt the corner during peak hr. idiots.
me and the missus had a near death experience coming home from motor show last night, dropped the in laws off at maroubra coming back home, some ****er f%$king taxi driver driving around a corner on the wrong side of the road, tis a good thing my missus can drive her car properly otherwise i wouldn't be writing this because i'd be dead.
i don't think just l and p plate drivers need driver training i think EVERY driver needs it. some people should not have access to a licence let alone a car!
my rant :jab:

it was probably a lancer mocked up to be a fooly sick EVO, and the media saps it for what it's worth, any way the reason the passenger always dies is because it's instinct to save your self so you usually turn the car so the passenger hits the object.

I did a driver training course a few months ago, and boy did it open my eyes. Driving an 89 corolla, it wasnt the best at pulling up vs new fords, commodores, lighter sports cars and the like. The first run on the pan was just floor it, and stop as quickly as you can. Then they showed us how to pull up properly, especially in non-abs cars. Cut my braking distance in half! I was all of a sudden within a metre or so of all the other cars. And that was only the first 1/2 hour of the course.

IMO driver training courses should be a compulsory part of getting your licence. Just a few hours at that course made me a far better driver. More importantly, it made me realise just how average a driver I was and how much more I have to learn. Once i get a bit more cash, ill be completing the next few stages.

Getting fined weeks after you have driven past a speed camera will not teach you how to drive better. Maybe slower, but definately not better.

Yep. That's what I did too. Now I'm cruising in a nice car that is all payed for.

If they mentioned all the morons doing idiotic things in older Commodores and Falcons, I bet it would far out weigh the high performance Jap cars.

My TX5 is a lot more dangerous than my WRX that's for sure!

Oh wells only 8 more days till I'm off my Ps.

Because 'usually' they do not put them selves in that position. No other way to put it but two ways for 'accidents' to occur.......INTENTIONAL stupidy or UNINTENTIONAL stupidity. Its the first that gets the attention.......as it should! No death in an accient is much worse than the other. There dead!

We need to have a mass P-platers accident in one night for it to have a slight effect.

School must be nearly finished for the year!!! Seems like there is a few youngins around here that might not be on the roads long as well. Must be the coppers and ambos favourite time of year, seeing youth throwing their lives away for a bit of fun they think they can handle!

It is accidents like this that convince me that spending a few hundred dollars towards driver education and also a few hundred towards my eldest learning to drive with a professional company has to be the best money I could ever spend...

Accompany that with serious talks, showing news articles, being honest and open etc and then hopefully I won't have to bury my son due to stupidity whilst he is driving..

If every parent spent the money on the above things, then maybe they too won't have to contemplate the horrors of losing their kids to car accidents.. just a possibility anyway..

As much as I dislike jap crap, its the "scum" media that blows things out of proportion. The sensationalisation of a p plater driving a "recognised" hoon car that is involved in an accident it too good of a story to pass up. This was proven the other day when a p plater crashed the car and killed his female passenger.........nothing was mentioned in the papers that the car was traveling at close to 200 clicks, and was a bog standard toyota.

If any media folk take offence....... tough.

There are a lot more incidents that are due to street racing that involve "black license" drivers and non hoons mobiles that you would believe, however a bandwagon can not be created/followed with Mr. Average Joe, driving boring plain ole standard car.
