I stopped buying Wheels and Motor 5 years ago.

I threw out my collection when I knew it was all BS to get my $'s every month with no substance.

Here is another example. These guys make up stories to sell their product.

Mark my words, there are no Aluminium panels or huge power train improvements in the pipeline - this is the Titanic, not the USS Ronald Reagan.

Thank you Motor Magazine for showing what the current AWD Taurus SHO would look like if dolled up as an Aussie model.

As we all know the shell, door openings and glasshouse on the FG is not changing in 2014 (no money)
so this car and it higher door panels and shorter glass house is not correct, nose will probably be more like Fusion..

I would find it funnier if it flogs all of HSV's offerings with less power to be honest.

Power wars over, says HSV’s Harding
Bucks for bang becoming too much for Holden’s performance arm

Go Auto
7 June 2013
By BARRY PARK

THE power wars are all but over, with HSV managing director Phil Harding conceding it is starting to become too expensive to chase after even more engine performance.

The go-fast arm of Holden used to pride itself on incremental upgrades to power over the life of a vehicle range, but that has now fallen to the rising cost of extracting even small amounts of extra poke at the rear wheels.

“I don't need to keep outdoing myself each year, and since the E-Series upgrade was launched the progress of power increases has been slower than it has in the previous 20 years,” Mr Harding told GoAuto at this week’s launch of the most powerful range of HSV cars yet.

His words mean this range of HSV vehicles could be the last of the big-horsepower cars developed in Australia, after its Gen-F series of cars that go on sale this week added a supercharged 6.2-litre “LSA” engine to its line-up that produces 430kW of power and a stump-pulling 740Nm of torque.

It sits alongside the normally aspirated 6.2-litre V8 engine that borrows some bits from the LSA engine – but not the supercharger – to produce a still-healthy 340kW and 570Nm, well up on the default 325kW and 550Nm.

Mr Harding said it was starting to cost him the same amount of money to tweak an engine for 5kW as it would for 50kW, making incremental increases unviable.

The power war is over because it will be a bit hard to stick a 6.2 litre V8 east/west to drive the front wheels come 2016/7.

No wonder their head engineer jumped ship to engineer caravans. He will be the first of many to jump ship before they become redundant.

I think we know it's a chop on a Taurus; it looks a lot better, in my opinion, than the GTHO concept from a couple of years ago.

I reckon that if Ford were to do something special, something of substance, for the GT, and say make 500 only of them, they would sell like hotcakes.

One can only hope (dream) that Ford will give the GT the send-off it deserves.

It is rather sad that Australian performance carswont be around much longer. what i'd like too see is GTHO. I know it wont happen. I'd love it too be what the phase 3 was (worlds fastest four door car). everything and more the phase 4 was going to be. one can dream I guess. I cant see HSV being around too much longer too be honest.

I know its bad with the end of ford manufacturing in Australia. But I hope it can go out in a positive way and celebrate the fact of the last Australian built ford falcon.

XC90 had a transverse mounted V8, which the D3 chassis is based on.

First gen modular was designed with FWD in mind apparently as well.

What they couldn't sharpen up the details of the grille a bit? They had to graft it on as is? Looks horrid. I'll still buy a copy though. Because Falcon.
