I wasn't aware they made these in convertables. Don't know if they'd look good with the roof gone.

I seen many CAD type drawings of these cars many years ago and were associated with many questions - it had no badge on it and one of the questions was "what does it look like?" I have liked these cars since the CAD drawings it just looks .. well good as does the 'stang, Must admit tho that purply color is a mistake. If I had the money I would definitely be driving around in one of these. Might be able to score one secondhand at a reasonable price in a few years.

I noticed today that the Camaro has been added to the SEVS list (Specialist and Enthusiast Vehicles Scheme).
http://rvcs-prodweb.dot.gov.au/sevs/561-00.htm

Someone out there obviously wants to bring them in and convert them over to RHD like some companies did with the current Mustang.

It's unusual to see a new LHD car legally driving around with actual rego & plates on it.

Is it my imagination or does the front of that Mustang in those pics 'look similar' the GM Camaro?? It's probably just me seeing things!! :P

Not in the ACT. There are 5-6 recent (under 20yo) LHD cars in our area ALONE. Nothing nice but still...

You must be thinking of something else, neither Top Gear UK, or Top Gear AUS have ever reviewed the New Camaro, the closest they got was Clarkson's '80s model Camaro in their American Road Trip episode. You might be thinking of the Dodge Challenger they drove along side the Cadillac CTS-V, and the Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1.

You serious, the bloke said it weighed nearly 2 tones and those brakes are fine for a fun car. Big brakes do stop you better!!!!! and your brakes are big enough once you start locking up wheels.

Its not fun when small brakes fade at the first corner. : I wouldnt get one full lap around a track with em.

Whats the point of this car then, for posers to drive to work?

Personally I think it's funny with the person in the car, looking back at the camera man going "WTF is he doing!"

so you drive your territory at the track do you? therefore you must be a poser who uses there car to drive to work just like everyone else??
Those brakes will lock up the tires, the only advantage like i said if you read my post, is big brakes fade less as they dissipate heat better. Fade is not an issue in any modern brakes for day to day driving (unless your driving up and down mountains at high speed or in an illegal manner of course).
New commodores and falcons are also nearly two tonnes, compare the stock brake sizes and you'll find they're about the same!
My xy has drum brakes, and i have NEVER had an issue stopping the thing, in fact it stops better than many other cars with discs usually (probably less weight) but i will guarantee that the brakes will fade easier than vented discs, but like i said i haven't had a problem yet.
How many people would be buying these to drive them at the track? maybe 5% max. Those people can upgrade their brakes, it'd be one of the first things you would do on any track car. Those brakes WILL work fine, so get over it. if your that one eyed about ford, and cant stand any other car, at least find a reason that makes sense to pay it out. "the brakes look too small" just doesnt cut the mustard for an insult to a car i'm afraid.

what do you reckon?
Honda jazz? those things are crap for country driving, what the hell makes you think they are any good for anything outside of shopping in the city?
its nice you can afford at least 3 cars, but normal people like me only have one car, and drive that everywhere. Maybe the guy (girl?) was an idiot and was used to overdone power assist brakes, have you driven it?
Geez you territory owners get on my nerves, just admit it - the brakes are probably fine, is it that hard?

Yeah yeah she's my daily, love her! just dont have the cash to do her justice, i can only afford to keep her ticking over. Painted it myself, to keep the rust at bay, have a cheap crossflow six and four speed in atm, while i save to rebuild the original. Features ground breaking 12 slot steel rims, picked up for 100 bucks with tyres, sure make a big difference over the stock wheels handling wise. Basically a mostly stock XY 500 falcon.

Please excuse the gt stripes, i wouldn't do them again when i repaint her, but it seemed like a good idea at the time...

I like the camaro's side profile better but the stang has the much nicer front end. Also not a huge fan of the windsheild /sunroof intergration but i think it would be cool to sit inside it. Is it strange not to have a ford badge on it . Do current mustangs have no ford badge?

There have not been many Mustangs that have had a Ford badge on the front, some of the Fox body ones did, but AFAIK there has not been a Mustang with a Ford badge on the grille for at least 10-15 years. Usually only a small Ford badge on the back on some models.

That musang is a Giugiaro creation and not a ford one, but it served as a template for the crurrent (2010) mustang.

Do you sport a Fro bloke? Pretty sure I've seen your rig cruising down the Mitchell FWY on occasions. I like the stripes, Just tell them the car is preparing for the V8. Most punters who would give you crap over your stripes wouldn't know a V8 if they tripped over it.

I use to have an XY myself, wish I never sold it. Mine was white, had a six (with a retrofitted 2V head) and a top loader. Great car that was. Mate of mine also had a white XY, his was winsor powered with a four speed manual. That car was pure gold.

As for the Comaro and the Brake thing. Those Brakes just look lame sitting inside those big hoops. Especially considering the rest of the car looks like is doing the Ton standing still.

I'm guessing its brakes are no better or worse that the run of the mill Falcon or Commondore. No good for any repeated stopping, but suffice for most road applications.

In addition to that, being a "Yank" car, I suspect only the top of the range models will actually go, handle, and stop anywhere near as good as they look. Even then the handling is probably so so compared to our sedans on our roads.

As if anyone would bother to build a car without brakes :
What he meant, is that there are no callipers on the brakes at all. Look closely there is only rotor in there. My guess is that they are covers which are used to hide the real smaller brakes behind it.

Aaahh i've been found out! i've seen a few green b series cars around these parts too, maybe we even shared some road rage!
Yeah heaps of people see the stripes, and ask if i'm going to finish them, when i ask what they mean they reckon they need to be painted across the roof and boot... I say yeah well you could do that to your own car, these stripes are finished.

aaaahhh i see whats going on now, and now you mention it i can't find the rotors... they do seem a bit strange too, like the discs poke too far towards the rim.
