Thanks all for the replies.

My dealer didnt seem to know anything about the 2.9% offer in Sydney, but quickly pointed out that in the fine print it excluded ST and Titanium models. Seems that is not the case.

Its probably irrelevant as not looking to buy before February anyway.

Im hoping to get these added to our parts box on XR5OC, seen as i will be taking it over becoming the Autospecialist/Dreamscience, Australian parts dealer as the other guy is moving OS.

Managed to have a good squizz through the ST yesterday while waiting to pick up my new car. Quite a tidy bit if kit. Starting to really grow on me. Even the TS. Nice indeed.

Have to agree with you there, just clocked up 1400 and have had a few stabs with traction and stability off and they feel really good. Have invested in a tune that arrives soon, by all reports they are heaps better with these adjustments.

Should also have mentioned the motor mount(s) appear to be a bit of a weakness, tuning will no doubt make it worse, there is a pretty decent bang between lower gear changes when opening up. This is something I am likely to be upgrading before too long.

I did hear the torque mount in the LV XR5 is a pretty close replacement with the ST, im certain someone has fitted one. I know in my tuned XR5 it made a heap of difference.

Put a deposit down on mine last week. Arrives in March and is the first batch of the 2013 builds. Seriously can't wait!

Anyone know what style the fog light bulbs are (H11 maybe?). Will be looking to replace them with something to match up with the bixenons

Thanks! Went with the frozen white and getting the dealer to arrange to get the wheels painted black prior to delivery. As far as I'm aware, there are no options?

EVLBOS - is yours a 2013 build as well? Where are you located? They originally told me feb as well but saying march now

Good colour choice. Wasnt aware that that painted wheels was a dealer option but good on you. You will be happy in its standard tune, I am awaiting my SCT unit from unleashed which promises so much more.

Painting the wheels wasn't a dealer option as such, i asked if they could do it and are just getting it done for me through a shop who does work for them.

Getting a tune will be tempting but I don't want to lose the factory warranty

It's a shame that every other country has options such as different colour wheels, different wheels, interior colour combinations, even a sunroof...We get diddly squat as usual.
I don't see why, when you order a specific car and wait three months. Anyway, looking forward to having the ST on an extended test drive next week.

Got it, thanks. In regard to warranty devices these days allow you to modify the tune in 10 minutes, and it takes that long to return to standard if it need to go in for service/repair. I guess if the history was reviewed there is potential for uncovering something abnormal with the diagnostics but I am prepared to give it a go with the flexibilty it gives you. By all reports it takes these things to another level. All the best.

I've read loads of good reports on the Unleashed tune. Please let us know your thoughts when you have it running.

What about the car warranty, are you going to set it back to stock before going in for services etc?

go to take an ST for a drive today. very impressed. i am also considering an MPS and got to drive the previous model. it isnt easy finding a current MPS to test drive at the moment in Perth. it was very torque-steery, but unbelievably fast in the mid range. i think it may just come down to whats available at the time i by and who can give me the best deal.

also discovered ford are going to do 2.9% in january.

Yeah I'm aware the flash devices can add and remove the tune in minutes so hopefully Ford are none the wiser when you go in for a service and don't knock back any claims.

I know with the previous xr5 some overseas dealers in the uk and nz offered the Mountune kits and they were covered by the factory Ford warranty. You pay a premium but would be worth it IMO. Shame no one in Australia does it....

i have always liked the mazda interior. but you are spot on wrt the runout point though. that is certainly something in favour of the focus. the focus didnt feel that quick, but the speedo told me otherwise. a very refined ride.

At dealership level, yes - but if your motor or a major component goes pop and they request your PCM be sent in for analysis (and this does happen), your warrranty says sayonara.

Getting warranty out of some Ford dealers is like getting blood out of a rock though, so would you really miss it?
