The fuse holder underneath the glovebox that your referring to is the bcm.
If your going to buy and fit the cosworth inlet I advise you to also fit the cosworth camshafts and then have your remap to suit as this will give you the best gains. Why is it that you trying to find where your PCM is located? If considering doing an engine swap it is far easier and cheaper to run a standalone ecu and to have that fitted. Run your existing one in parallel to provide signals to your instrument cluster and the rest of the cars modules. If you run the OEM module you will need to have it all configured using ids which very few non dealership garages have and I'd be surprised if a dealership would want to get involved with a conversion. |

Have been trying to find the PCM location to get serial numbers for remap tuning compatibility. The later model Focus with 2.0 Duratec engines are different to the pre 2005 models which have generic tunes on offer through several tuning companies (ie Viezu, Bluefin ......)

Strange the duratecs need that, I thought only the rs focus needed the serial code. Deal mostly with them an the xrs though.
I'm sat waiting for a bluefin to finish uploading on an xr5 ive been working on as I'm writing this and it's a 2007 model... |

Some mob asked about it to confirm if their flashing device would work with the aussie shipped LV's, never found it so gave up, SCT's work on them took it into herods and they had a look and was all good for them to play.

I think it's only the petrol models Damo, the diesels are dead easy to mod and get the best results along side the XR5 of course. There is nowhere near as much power or torque gains on the N/A petrol models with the flash tune but from what I have read it still makes them a lot more responsive than stock and anything is better than nothing IMO

I hear you on the lack of play room. I'm still wondering whether we can do something with an RS airbox, given they look almost the same...

^ and it also isn't designed for our car. That particular typhoon is for the US Focus, as it has a MAF sensor, which ours doesn't.

Yep, would be exxy for an RS airbox if it didn't fit. I think the radiator cover piece would also need to be changed.
I notice the LW's have a similar airbox, albeit with what looks like two intakes. Does the second one also feed into the airbox?

I've always wondered about the RS box, would need the different front plate bit though as In Focus said.
Anyway here's what I've done lately, not much..

A focus rs air box would be a big waste of money if it did fit. Spend it elsewhere on the engine.
Engine mods from a xr4 fiesta (st outside Australia) should be very similar to your focus. Flash tunes may differ ever so slightly but will be along the same lines. I shouldn't really say this as ultimately it's a business loss by doing so...... BUT honesty is the best policy.....flash tunes on a naturally aspirated car in my personal opinion aren't worth the money for the gain recieved. On a stand alone ecu setup good gains can be had as a lot of time can be spent mapping the engines ignition and fuelling tables which are normally setup in the factory for a good balance of economy, power and emissions. A flash tune is no where near as in depth as this and in a na setup it is more for increased driveability than anything else. However on a turbocharged vehicle the easiest way to extract more power is to up the boost limit which is what is always done on the flash maps so great gain is had. The best way to gain more power from your NA engine is increased CR, better air and fuel delivery, better exhaust. If you don't want to break the bank I'd look at a k&n replacement filter (avoid cone induction kits due to the heat soak) leave your standard air box as it is, a miltek 4 branch manifold and full system with a sports cat. This will see a few bhp increase. The next level up from that would be camshafts, followed by individual throttle bodies and uprated fuel pump all running off a stand alone ecu system. From that you will see around the 180bhp mark. A friend of mine back home runs a company specialising in fiesta tuning and uses the 2.0 duratec with Titan Roller Bearing Throttle Bodies, Webber Fuel Pressure Regulator, uprated fuel pump, omex 600 ecu and that runs 187bhp and 149 lbs torque.. |

Cheers fonfe, I plan on doing a few of those things when the funds are there, then getting a proper tune with all the stuff in the car to get it singing together.
And sorry about the extremely large pics, I didn't realise the iphone took them so huge, other forums they showed up smaller, and I can't edit them now D:

I wahsed mine, waiting on my new headlights to come from Germany, DHL have sloths flying their planes I think.
I shouldn't have washed it, as I've noticed I've got about a bazillion stone chips on my bonnet. Last edited by Franco Cozzo; 03-06-2012 at 12:03 PM. |

If I were to buy this:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251039340...ht_1328wt_1159 Would it just be a direct swap from the stock mk1 LV one? I don't have the sony one in mine, and would the blutooth worth with it?

Do you mean into your current lv focus? Just that's not a mk1 mate, mk1 focus is the original very first shape ;) technically a 2010 model is a mk3.
But to answer your question, yes it should fit in the hole. You would need the surround to go with it and I think the multiplugs fit but I'm not 100% on it as I've never checked them before. I do have a spare head unit like the one your looking at that I took out of our race RS we are building but don't have a non RS focus to check the plugs against :( Don't think the Bluetooth would work unless you had the Bluetooth module already fitted from factory in your focus but again I'm not 100% on that. Do make sure you get the radio code off the seller though when you buy it as without it the thing will be pretty useless! If you can't get it just send me a pm with the radio's serial number and I'll get you the code but it will cost you as it costs us to get them each time as every one is unique to the radio.

I think he meant version 1 of the LV, as a mini-facelift (called LV Mk 2) added stuff like voice recognition and a different head unit and alloys, from memory.

Just like fonfe said, it will fit, but you will need the bluetooth module to match. They're fitted on the passenger side up behind the airbag under the dash.

Cheers guys! awesome replys, I need to get the tool to remove it properly first to have a look.
And In focus is correct, the LVmk1 and LVmk2 are slightly different, the mk2 was in 2011 with the updates like he mentioned. Would you be willing to part with your headunit? Wont be getting it for a few weeks, kinda just bought the spoiler the guy had for sale, always wanted the xr5 spoiler for mine, finally getting it!

As your current stock unit is the same shape as the one you're looking at on eBay Conrad, you shouldn't need the surround part that FonFe mentioned, that would only have been needed if you were changing from the current shape oval faced unit to a rectangular faced unit. As far as bluetooth etc working I can't imagine that much would have changed in the wiring department. Does your have voice activation ? If it does then I'd guess the only real difference will be the actual face of the head unit, mine has the same unit as the one your looking at fitting, I am considering buying one of the Sat/Nav units for mine at a later date

Mine doesn't have the voice activation, it's just the standard one, no sony or any special features, just the steering wheel control toggle thing.

Yeah, my silver painted stuff has scratches all around the gear shift area, wish it wasn't so expensive to buy the stuff, if this guy still has it all from the xr5 I'd love to take it off his hands
