if its just the mirror stuffed, you should be right to remove the old one and get a new one. The electronics sice of things is easy - you just have to plug the wiring back in (when you take the old mirror off you'll see what i mean).

There's a trim panel inside the car which is basically in the same spot as the mirror if you get me. If you get that bit off, you can unscrew the mirror.

Its been a while since I took one off but it's something like that :

Remember, if you buy an (expensive) genuine replacement you can simply take the painted back of the old one and put it on the new one.

I bought a $40 one off eBay - the clips for the back are in different locations. Drove around with one white mirror and one black mirror for about a year before getting it fixed along with some other stuff.

Cheapest option is probably to buy to non-genuine mirrors from the same place, and have two black mirrors.

I've seen references to chrome-backed mirrors also. They sound pretty cool but I haven't seen them advertised anywhere.
