My 2016 MD Mondeo Titanium Diesel with 67000 kms on the clock has intermittent problem with the auto engine on/off feature not restarting the engine. It usually happens before the engine has fully warmed up and always at a busy set of traffic lights. The engine will eventually restart via the ignition switch. Has anyone had this problem?

Just turn it off completely. The saving in fuel is not worth what it could cost in repairs.

Don't take this as gospel, but I don't think you can. AFAIK it's legally required as part of the emissions control. I can't access configuration settings on my Forscan because my free license period ran out, and because they're Russian, we can't send money to them to buy the full license. So I can't say for certain.
I've just gotten into the habit of switching it off when I release the handbrake. It's just like switch, switch, gear lever. Becomes quite automatic. But if you really want to disable it, search old threads. There's a link in one to a little electronic circuit you can make that will electronically "toggle" the switch every time you start up. So the default effectively becomes off. |

As suggested, u will find a manual over ride button/switch in the centre console(near the handbrake lever when in the down position) i also believe it can be coded out(from memory it's in the bcm)
