Default Ford assists search to find Puma

A unique marketing idea!

Ford Australia is preparing to supply field cameras and monitoring equipment to research group Big Cats Victoria to help their “legitimate quest to find a Puma in the wild”, to coincide with the release of the new Ford Puma SUV.

I hope they find one

I just saw this this morning. The group has reported puma sightings in the You Yangs area in the past, so Ford thought it was a natural fit considering the Proving Ground is here.

I never got the whole big cat thing, sure the odd circus animal might get loose but its been some years since animals were in a circus. Even then you would need a male and female to get out at the same time, get creative, and then have one hell of an inbred family.

But hey, something different.

It is always hard to tell with the photos I have seen to get the scale right to see if you are looking at a large feral cat.

They're out there.

I have been actively involved in tracking Big Cats (most likely Cougars) in Southern WA, for some time now.

People ask for proof, but see that's not how "Tracking" works.

I can't tell you WHERE they are, I can't even say for sure that they actually exist.

But I can give you a number!
