My fuel line broke while replacing the fuel filter on my AU Fairmont wagon. It snapped off about 3 inches from the fuel filter. Has anybody had any experience with this in terms of replacement cost. Or is it possible to repair it in anyway.

Is it a inline 6 or V8? If it's a 6 you can probably just cut the two broken ends square with a tubing cutter, flare (double laps or bubble flare) those ends and insert a piece of high pressure fuel hose (this stuff https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p-...ose&lang=en_AU ) on the newly cut and flared ends fastened with high quality hose clamps. Cutter and flarer in a kit: https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/...ool&lang=en_AU

You should have no problems sourcing another one from the wreckers for minimal cost.

Is it tank or engine side that broke?

And why did it snap? Rough treatment or corrosion ?
