Back in the 70's were I lived we had a lot of flooding on the back roads for miles just stagnate crap about a FT deep mainly and I had a HG Premier V8 and they have all have tin plate under the engine stoping water getting in and it had air-con so it had a shroud on the radiator and that thing would never miss a beat, I could drive as fast as I could for miles with angle wings 10FT high, but when I got the HX 308 she was good but you had to watch out at times and slow down in some spots or she would run on 4cyl or so. But a mate with a V8 WB 1 tonne and he had a snorkel setup and he just sprayed the dizzy and plugs and we went through creeks that I had to lift the some gear up off the tray so it did not get wet and water was well over the tray and over the bonnet and it never missed a beat. I could not believe it. |

Where's that video of that SES truck driving though flood water up over the windscreen?
Pretty sure the driver got the flick, even though it made it through fine.

https://youtu.be/3h3_IZWhX0g Pretty bloody stupid if you ask me & I’ll think you’ll find it was CFA and even if it was SES they’re volunteers so you can’t be sacked, reprimanded, sure, have your driving re assessed sure, even be instructed not to drive, but wouldn’t be “flicked”
