I love the ELs cause they look better than the AU and i cant afford a BA. Also cause they weigh stuff all compared.

Mum and Dad had an XE sedan, then Dad had a EB bank car (I loved it), Grandad had an XF and so did my neibour at the time, so I kinda have ford blood.

but when I first layed eyes on the EF (15yo) I fell head over heals and just had to have one.

my 2nd and 4th (current) cars have both been EFs (GLi and XR6)

Funnily enough the EL is the same shape, but doesn't do it for me Strange

I couldn't afford the Commodore I wanted and the rest is history. :P I didn't like Fords much, funny the way things work out sometimes. Now, the only Commodores I would want are the GenIII models.

The EF was the best I could afford at the time. Really fell in love with it. Then I had a couple of EAs which I loved. Now I am just an E-Series nut!!!

well i have spent time in both camps and if u ask me id say the only dunydore that they got half right was the vl and that was a shamble in a lot of ways and then going from that to a r31 skyline well the skyline had it all over it and then i was shatterd when my 5sp skyline wagon was owend at the lights by some gear grinding mother @#$5er in a 5sp ea... so then i bought one!!!!! now all i have to do is save enough money for all the ideas i get when i log on here

Bring it on. The amusing part is... my family sedan isnt particularly quick - still puts attitudes like yours to bed on a regular basis.

BTW have fun keeping that engine cool... I love the smell of overheating nissan in the morning. Nothing else in the world smells like that.

the good old plastic fantastic nissan 300zx, how do passengers find the back seats?? if you can call it a seat.
I reckon stick with a falcon and you cant go wrong, parts are cheap, practical, and built for aussie conditions, not the small person japanese market

Well, we had an EA wagon, which was a good car, and my grandfather owned an EF Futura (which my dad now drives). Once I saw that EF, I wanted one. I couldn't afford an E series when I got my first car (maybe could have bought a 3speed EA, but I didn't really want a six at the time).

Now, I do have an EF (another Futura), and even though I've only just bought it, compared to the old Pintara, it's like chalk and champagne, the EF runs rings around it.

Whats so rare about Koya Octanes?
Unless they are Chrome, you can get the 18x8's at 99% of tyre shops.

i've got my hand up mate, i will give you a run anytime you like - if you had bought a skyline or even a silvia/180 turbo you MIGHT have got back a little respect you lost in your above posts, but a 300zx? FFS!!! they are the fattest slowest POS 'performance car' the japs have ever produced.

Owning you would be as much fun as punching harold scruby in the face

anyway, back to topic

i remember reading about EB vs VP and ED vs VR comparisons in wheels and motor magazines when i was much younger, and the journos always liked the ride/handling of the fords more than the holdens, and they frequently won comparos even though they were slower.

and i just fell in love with the basic EA/ED shape - so elegant and smooth, a gentle wedge shape from front to back...beautiful.

and i have always had a thing for the I6...its just a sexy engine

they are practical, roomy, cheap, and bloody tough (coming up on 206,000km on mine, last 8000km running 9psi and STOCK computer! lean as anything and pings like a jamacan drum over 3500rpm, and still not using oil or making nasty noises!)

im just so impressed by how well they stand up to unreasonable punishment, its absolutely amazing.

and did i say they look sexy?

Always loved the shape of the E-series. When my parents bought their EBII wagon, I loved them even more. Then when the EF came out, I found it to be a sensational looking car. I've always found it looks far nicer than the VR Commodore (just like EA looks nicer than VN etc). The e-series are mechanically better cars too.

My dad used to have and old 80s fairlane with the 302 auto and being young I thought it was the best untill my cousin who had just brought a new eb xr8 lined my dads old fairlane up at the lights and just blew him to the weeds. From then on I wanted an eb xr8.
