and becuase its repairable writeoff it would have needed a VIV certificate which verifies the parts used in the repair process were not stolen...

I have just heard back from Peter, and he has decided to resell the car. I'll recommend he go through http://Carsales.com.au or similar.

Not sure on that one, it sounded like he had lost a lot of faith in the car? I'll keep you guys posted.

Yeah thats terrible. It would be a bit crap to find this info out. Would ruin the purchase if you bought it not knowing. However if he got it cheap, its still a great car that dosnt need much @ all (from what i know), to get it shmick again

it has been explained earlier in the thread....if you read it....... that it IS the same car....max KEPT the cornering lamps... THE WHEELS WERE STOLEN when the car was stolen.....

as for the mirrors, not hard to paint them / find some in the came colour....

Look carefully at the photos. Its got the same dints and imperfections in the new photo as the old photos. It certainly is the same car

the car used to have a black mirror while a new one was painted, it was then put on before the car was stolen.
so it is the actual car.

Was thinking the new owner bought it and repaired the damage but it seems he bought it with all damage fixed & missing parts replaced.

Hope someone passes that bit of crucial info on to him. Would have easily been over looked in the repair process.
