They don't need to be left in oil, they pump up in a few minutes with the engine running.

Power shouldn't have changed with new lifters unless the old ones are stuffed, then you'd have more power and a quieter engine anyway.

Did you make sure the correct amount of shims were used?

And if so, you should leave it for a while, hydraulic lifters ain't rocket science, they are very simple devices, they simply cushion/take up the clearance and have a great tolerance in doing so.

Rick.

I agree with sox on this useless.

Stop playing with your lifters.

Theres no power to be gained here outside of STUFFED RATTLY lifter replacement.

You've heard mine rattle and pump up in seconds and they are fine so are yours.

When I listen to them with stethoscope they tik away. When I rev it a bit they seem to tick but only some.Perhaps 1 more shim wont hurt.

The car is less torquey with the 3 lifters I changed.

Don't worry about the stethoscope, if you can't hear them without it they are fine.
What you're hearing with the stethoscope is the valve slamming shut, that's normal.

Worn valve guides can sound much the same as a noisy lifters.
