And another......
http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/...h-in-melbourne

Youths were seen throwing rocks at a nesting swan just before it was discovered dead at a Melbourne park.

Police found the female swan with an open wound to the head at Queens Park in Moonee Ponds about 3.40pm on Wednesday.

Witnesses told police they saw four male and two female teenagers throwing rocks at the swan as it was protecting its eggs.

The dead swan's mate is now guarding the nest after losing his companion.

- What annoys me as that the cops say they had witnesses, who saw 6 people doing this. Why did they not act upon it? Why did they not call the cops.

Human nature at its finest..........

The worst thing about what is going on are these people are most likely the same people who will murder, rape etc in the future and we do nothing to punish them in the beginning. That story about the fox terrier, those 2 should never be released into society. I hate reading these stories. Every sunday I take my kids to a local lake and we handfeed the ducks some bread (I know it is not good for them, but 3 pieces between 10 ducks seems fine), I have been feeding ducks as long as I can remember as I lived right next to a lake for 14yrs. I said to my partner one day I hope nothing ever happens to these ducks, they are way too trusting of people. I pull up in my car, get out and before I know it they are all running toward me. It only takes one twisted person to ruin this weekly experience for my kids and I hope it never happens.

Same here. I live across the road to a large pond with ducks. hate to see it happen there.

I know there are far more horrible things in life, but still........

It's very hard to comprehend such senseless violence, or how these individuals began on their path to such self destructive behavious... however I once again bring up the topic of "where were the parents?".

ferrals breed ferrals. any kid who would do this comes from a broken family so i doubt the parents would care at all.

ill remember when i was young and stupid, some chicks ( birds lol ) were in a nest on this roof, i threw a rock and knocked the nest out and the chicks, they survived but i felt so bad, i took them home, set up a little bird box with light for heat etc fed them for about 3 weeks, then one day i opened the box to feed them and they flew out the garage door :(

Yes i saw that last night on the news... my stomach truely churned.

How on earth do these tiny brained morons live with themselves???

Whats even worse is the fact that their parents really dont care what their kids do and heaven help you if you went up to them to tell them off.

Its been proven that kids who perform acts of animal cruelty more then likely have been abused by someone and will just get worse with age if nothing gets done about it.

We see more and more cases of what i call extreme bullying in schools etc..
For the love of god when are some parents gonna get of the bums and take responsibility??

The more I read stuff like this, the more I like my dog. These cases are an absolute abomination to the human race. I have a lot of time for animals, and I'm quite regularly reduced to tears by this kind of thing, particularly when it comes to dogs. There's a couple of stories that have come out of the US in the last couple weeks, that have made my blood boil...I keep my dog with me wherever possible, because I tell you what, if anyone ever hurt my 'kid'...I'd be locked up...

Kiddies nowadays know they can do whatever the hell they want because the law treats 'underage' as children.
These same people want the rights of adults - to drink, smoke, pornography, R-Rated films, but want none of the responsibility.

This country is starting to become a bloody souffle.

Read this yesterday. What sort of low lifes not only laugh in the face of people at the death of his mother an brother, but they have teenagers bash a 10 year old child and laugh about it. Are they doing it for kicks because I really don't understand the mentality of those low life's. Those people are scum and deserve a good flogging.

I hope something like this happen's to them. No-one should ever take pity on people like that. I would love to see these people get whats coming to them. But what ever it is, it won't be enough.

Makes my bloody boil to think people would bash a 10 year old child who is still only a small boy, who has gone through alot over the past few months. He is just a small child.
