Default Ford rejects big cuts to US dealer network

How good is this?!

http://www.detnews.com/article/20090...network/?imw=Y

Every time there is mention of cuts at GM & Chrysler there is an article about Ford US with a positive spin! Almost every time, they also mention:
Quote:
"Ford is not accepting any government bailout money, in contrast to its two crosstown rivals."

Farley was particularly critical of the Chrysler plan, noting how it would affect millions of consumers with little warning.

"It seems very abrupt and unplanned," he said. "You don't orphan 4 million customers overnight without some fallout."
I predict Ford will continue to pick up heaps of market share in the US.

Ford is reducing the number of dealers but they are working with them instead of just imposing their will on them. They are helping them to consolidate instead of just shutting them down. They do need to reduce the number of dealers so that the lower volume of cars enable dealers to be profitable by moving more of the fewer cars through fewer dealers.

Ford is slowing this process though as they realized GM and Chrysler are closing many dealerships that are in rural areas. This means who's dealership will be left, and where will the people go??? The Ford dealership. :
