Default Hey guys another mystery? Au xr8

Hey guys, had my ute booked in to get my roller rockers changed.
And they took the rocker cover off, and no crane 1.6's but yella terra 1.7's....
This has NEVER been modified from new- so has been done at the factory.

How many others has this happened too?
Anyone interested in buying or trading them for something send me a pm??

What year model is the ute, and what engine? If it's built after mid 2001 with the 200kw motor, then 1.7 RRs were standard in the package.

You are correct mate.
185kw got steel pressed rockers with 1.6 ratio
200kw got crane roller rockers at 1.6 ratio
220kw got yella terra roller rockers 1.72 ratio
250kw got yella terra roller rockers 1.72 ratio

Dunno why yours has the yella terra ones, but its not the first time its happened. even some of the T series cars that were supposed to have 1.72 ended up with 1.6

I thought the 200kw got 1.7s? I recently read here more info about them. http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11245148

oh well guess it was luck of the draw.

My old AU had the 1.7's in too, like you I expected to find Crane 1.6's but was pleasantly surprised. I dont know why youd want to swap them though.

3 from 3 suggests this is more than an accident.

if the crane rockers are the cobra rockers they are actually 1.7 ratio too, as was fitted to el gt's etc.

ok so these crane 1.6's only come out in AU 200kw's, nothing else then. And they the same as the cobra style or are they different? I know they do make a 1.6 and 1.7 cobra rocker, and the set of ford logo'd one's i have were 1.7's (have checked part number with crane and measured them myself as well), but we have no idea what they came out of, just that they came from tickford when AU's were in production.

As for the spare set of rollers u have, i may be interested in a few weeks, as the cranes are old and fallen apart.
