Cool No Codes.......

Well the on going saga of number 2 sons S111. SR continues. got the ball joint sorted, only to have a ongoing problem with engine to re appear. Seems every time the weather gets beyond 35c it decides to run rough as and revs up to 2500 then just dies only to burst back in to life at 250rpm, makes for interesting driving in peak times : Replaced the fuel filter, checked the usuall sensors, went for a lap around the block only to split a radiator hose : fixed that only to find the surging.. missing is still there .ran it down to the workshop to get the scan tool read out only to find not one code came up :sm_headba Needless to say as its cooler now the thing runs fine up to the rev limiter Ware to next is my question ?, thinking may be a fuel pump hissy fit in the heat, but at $200 + for a new one I'm open for any other ideas first _

coil pack is breaking down in the heat.. small cracks etc expand and render it useless

My XR6 is doing the same thing, i have replaced the plugs, fuel filter, air filter, had the isc cleaned and alike, my car runs fine then after a long drive or in the heat it runs and then sometime shuts down.

Sounds like a lead is shorting out, have they been changed, what about electrical wires, traced those for wear

What racecraft said!

Another good point, though surging is the usual sign for this fault, worth the try though
