Hey, just wondering what the best way people have installed amplifiers under their seats. Am about to embark on a setup change in my ute and as a part of that wish to put the amps' under the seats to get me back some room behind the seats.

It would double as a seat warmer too :hihi:
But seriously, I spose you could screw it into the frame that holds the foam in, depending on the size of your amp. |

Well AFAIK there's nothing that one could accidentally screw into on the floor, so I don't imagine any problems.

your fine mounting it under the seat but definatly dont mount it upside down as all you will do is cook the amp as well as the passenger's a**.lol

I had mine screwed into the floor under the driver's seat ... it was a Pioneer 600W 4-ch.
Look near the early pages of my AU build thread in my signature ... there's a pic of it peaking out from under the driver's seat. Was a tight fit. My sub amp was bolted to the trans tunnel ... on a flat piece of carpeted MDF (kinda false floor) ... between the subs ... it was solid indeed.

velcro is an easy option. amp must be mounted right way up tho otherwise itll overheat.

your head unit should have a remote out wire. use that for auto on.

I got my velcro (not too sure how long the roll was... maybe two metre's?) from Bunnings for around $20. |

yeah, i was thinking the acc wire would do the job. don't like manual switches as they can be left on by accident.

Depends on the amp, if your using one with speaker level inputs because you have't got RCA output, some of them have turn-on on signal detection.

na, looking at hooking up my old Alpine amp/sub box, and just running a speaker-line level converter off the rears.
