Hi all, in the near future i will be replacing my front discs (series 1).
Just after some recommendations on brands. I know about the entire brake upgrade to Series 2 but im just wanting to replace the discs at the moment. Cheers, Adam.

DBA or RDA, go for slotted if you can. Match it up to a decent set of pads, like Bendix.

I have RDA slotted, with green stuff, i give them a good belting and the discs havent warped at all but the have worn down a bit, i rekon another set of green stuff pads and the discs will be cactus. but well worth the little money and braking upgrade.
That said if you arent going to belt your car id go for cheapy protek brand with bendix pad which my brother has and that does just fine to cruise about. You driving style might not be up to the poor ford brakes, and no matter what you put on there (budget that is) it will warp, like rda or dba, so thats why we settled for cheapies on my brothers car. |

i put dba slotted and bendix pads feels real good no problems yet with them and i did the a few months ago

This is what I just picked up today for $160 each through Big Brakes Australia in Adelaide
These should be a big improvement on the RDA slotteds that are on there until monday though they were only standard slotteds These will be mated to a second set of EBC greenstuffs After this set ware's out in five to ten years (I don't drive the car much but spirited when I do), I am going to move to hoppers stoppers twin piston 330mm rotor package with Corvette calipers and different brake pad brand

The RDA's were great for what they cost and for those on a budget, they are a fine rotor package
I just wanted to get the best rotors for the old Ticky that were available and the 4000's are the best you can get The 5000 two piece rotors are not available for AU's

Well the lovely rotors are on the car, motul dot 5.1 fluid is in and got fresh coolant
Took the car for a test run with very light, light and then medium to medium hard stops and I am absolutely stoked If there is one thing to do to an AU series 1 without doing the S2 conversion or a conversion to twin or four piston calipers, it is definately fitting DBA 4000 6x6 wiper slot rotors on the front These are the best that DBA make for the AU (can't get 5000's) The pedal feel and stopping power is way better than the RDA's or getting DBA street slotteds Give them a go Next up for me at next brake fluid change - ADR approved braided brake lines
