Default Ever done 170mph..... on water?....

This is insane. i just watched it on discovery channel in Extreme Engineering.

See the big fluro yellow one down the bottom?

3,800hp twin turbine engines. on the show they had just reconditioned the engines and were testing it for the first time - previously it had reached 160mph - this time they got this monster up to 170mph(274km/h). Can you imagine that kind of speed? i doubt many, no most of you have even reached that speed in a car let alone a boat. I thought someone would find this awesome, i was stunned, never realised these offshore racing boats reached those sorts of speeds!

the new miss geico has recorded 235mph ruma has it. But on the Hipo boat forums form the states it was trapped (radar) at 210mph.
Go fast on water and you'll never both on land.

Riviera's Bill Barry Cotta was the big player in Australian off shore racing, about 15 - 20 years ago, my family had small (30') off shorerace boat 'C' class, and the cash the big boys threw around, Steve Ackery (Stefan) included was unreal

bring back the 80's : : :
