Wouldn't have thought the XF would be wide enough either, pretty sure my XD wouldn't fit a pallet and same tray. Either an odd shaped pallet or he had it spaced up.

Yeah they fit allright. I have been in a vp ute with just over 1 tonne of bricks in the back on a pallet.

Its not so much the weight but the height of the thing, you wouldnt want to be following that, any lean would have been real tragic, doesnt even look like he has tied it down..

Good thing the cops didn't spot him driving...his steering would have been badly affected....
As far as forking it off i would bring the tyns (sp) together and try and balance it (as you can't change the angle between the tyns)

Oh and a VP ute with over a ton of bricks : are you trying to kill someone? i thought Vp's only rated for 500kg!

And i didn't think standard utes fitted standard pallets (114cm x 114cm) thats why my old work bought a tray back.

Hay I was just an innocent bystander lol. Not much you can do when you're boss decides he is going to do something stupid. I was just sitting in the passenger seat thinking when are the cops going to pull us over. I don't know if it was a standard pallet or not , whatever it was it fitted fine (accept for the 500kg over weight).

Chep Pallet it actually 120cm wide.
And they fit nicely in AU XL and XLS stylesides ... with about 1 cm to spare either side.

honestly i cannot understand why you would do something so stupid... god what do people think, oh its ok my suspension is load rated to like half of what i have loaded on it's all good or some dumbass thought. lol

Well, I got talking to my sandwich lady today, (owns the shop across from that park)
The police caught up with him apparently. And the ute had to be towed away.

I remember reading that Ford made sure that a pallet would fit in an AU Ute when designing them as the previous X-Series couldnt.

Yes i have seen those 1 tonners with their suspension lower,
with 18 inch or 19 inch mags and carrying a chef pallet at the back.

Stand corrected..Ive never tried, they just don't look like they would fit must have got the tray purely for the side loading then

longreach were 1 tonne and handled it reasonably well . alloy wheels thats just silly and as said before that load looks to be over by a bit so not the best idea he ever had

You can run alloy wheels and still carry a pallet ... as long as it is within specs though.
A load on a Chep pallet isn't 1-tonne 9 times out of 10 ... a lot of places really only get about 700-odd kg on them. And you still get paied for a 1-tonne load

Although 1-tonners with non-load rated alloys is a bad thing ... and illegal .. hence why I opted for the Sports suspension model ... I can use any wheels I like ... as long as I load within factory specs for the vehicle (mind you I have upgraded leaves and shocks in the rear ... and looking at using Polybags later on too.)

I'd say that's what it was for ... much easier for loading with a fork ... also with stylesides as well ... the tailgate doesn't drop fully and you need to watch out for some forkies out there ... they don't look. Wish I could drop mine though ... but I'd smack the towbar if it took the cables off.
