sydney powercruise 2008

just wondering if any 'normal' people (ie, not tied up with big name workshops/top show cars) managed to score a pit garage or carport for the 2008 eastern creek powercuise?

i have spoken to a few people that were entrants last year, they sent their applications off the day they got them and still missed out on a pitlane spot. apparently the preference goes to alcohol cars and big names :

i'll still be there, just not for the whole event, and not staying at the venue (with bumped up prices for camping)
