Default Can anyone please tell me what this interior light is out of?

Hi All,

Just wondering if anybody can tell me what this interior light is out of? I removed it from my EL today, but my last EL and EF had the normal style interior light.

http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...t/IMG_0962.jpg

Thanks,
Justin.

Thanks Pat, yeah forgot to mention it's definitely a Ford part. Must be out of a higher series as you said.

Best E-series dome lamp. I put one in my EL and it rocks. Just look out for the replacement price of the globe if it goes : :

Sure can. MightyXR6Turbo had one in his ED wagon.
They will replace the Falcon or Fairmont lights.

I never knew of this dome light, looks great. I wonder if the VS Caprice used the same one...

What kind of globe is it? The majority of cars use a 31mm festoon or similar...

jack, its only got a ford stamp on the underside of it, and is actually a mustang one.....so i doubt the caprice would have used it

also, the globe is a bit of a wierd one....its a long version of the wedge park lamp bulb....

i might put an LED array in mine before fitting it

also, i think they're NL only, pretty sure NF got the one that's used in both fords and holdens

Hmmm nice one, there have been a couple of NFs at JRs in recent weeks but they tend to get stripped quicker than you can say "clear side indicators"...

The globe is exactly like the eye level brake light globe, but a lower wattage. Tried the 21 watt brake globe in mine when the original blew and at night it was way too bright, plus I was worried that the heat would damage the dome lamp.
Then I tried finding the right wattage one from anywhere but Ford without success, so I had to go to Ford and it was dear as!

Sounds like a BA15S, there is an LED replacement which costs US$10 plus postage but I'd have to confirm. If anyone has any globe queries in future, speak to me before spending over the odds. ;)

I found a 10mm blowy in my interior lamp cover once. That was quite festoon.

I think my one might be NF as the buttons are black. Would've thought that NL buttons would be grey? Only guessing though!

So what does everyone think would be a fair price to advertise mine at?

I have also been confused by grey and black buttons on the HVAC units of various EF/EL GLis (etc), I haven't figured out any logic to it yet...
