Can anyone recommend a place to get disc machined?
It has been years since I had this done on a different car and I got a quote today for $150 whcih seemed ratehr high to me.... Im in Prahran, so somethign round the city would be nice but I am happy to travel. Cheers! |

Just call a few shops up either local mechanics or repco, beaurepairs etc and ask them how much it is to machine each disk.
$150 does seem a bit high more around $100-$120 for 4 disks i would have thought. |

they quoted me $150 for just the 2 front discs....

that would include everything - removing, machining, repacking bearigns, refitting ...
take them off yourself and take them in to get done. You save heaps. I once carried two discs about 5 km in an old army backpack to get them done. They weren't heavy to begin with but it's odd that thigns get heavier the further you carry them. Some can do them on-car but the machinery is expensive and you pay more than just machiing discs off the car. |

Its not much to get them done most places do them on the car these days, i cant remember what it cost when i got them done it wasn't more than $40 a disc though drive-in-drive-out and every place i called said they do it while their on the car.
