What do you class as rice?

Just curious as to what different people class as rice.

for me its any car with any types of neons, exterior leds (eg. washers, valve caps), decals, supercheap auto mesh in bumper or grill (expecially with neons behind it), cannon exhaust tips (on non turbo cars).

i wouldnt define any particualar types of cars id call a e-series with neons, leds etc rice.

i only class a car as rice if it looks faster than it is.

excel with a bodykit and neons = rice.
excel with a body, neons and a big turbo that flogged me the other day = not rice.

Or mods people do that hinder (or gain little) performance and claim they know what they're talking about in re. to cars. Ie. they hear everything from their mates with Schkylines that they're invincible, and if you own something like a Falcon that it's a slow, Aussie taxi - you know? Coz everything built in Japan is superior and faster!

i think rice is a mod that clashes with the rest of the car.... eg:neons on an ea wagon (got one in shepp) or turbo exhausts on non turbos, huge bodykits on weak cars... i think a perfectly neat, straight version (with good rims and a lowering job) of any car is nicer than any rice burner i have seen...IMO

Perfect, i think thats it right there, If it is in not tasteful and/or clashes with the rest of the car, then yeah, it's rice. Bodykits need to be well integrated with the original bodyshape of the car, neons need to be hidden, and race inspired cosmetic enhancements that generally make the car look worse than a stocker, are RICE.

but i'd have to say it when you make your car look and appear to be a weapon when its not, or when u have a car that has some real over the top ИИИИ like park bench wings and milo tin exhausts on 1.5L cars

Rice is the main staple for the Japenese/Chinese and this is where "rice" cars come from.

I guess it probably originated from the term "Rice Burner"

Anybody who advertises their car to be quick, when it isn't. The wishlist down the side, the neons anywhere on the car, etc.

An imported car doesn't mean rice, its just slow cars that look like they should go quick.

rice is to me anythin that is driven mainly by ( not been racist) asian people that has gross amounts of bling hanging off it


anything made by nissan eg skylines, silvia's 180sx 300sx/z etc

yeh true, sorry about that mate. i can see how people think of them as rice cars. i just have mates with a silvia and a rx7 and i will defend them to the death now as they go damn hard.
