Default 260 Invasion SA VSU trip

Hi guys, just letting you all in on the VSU road trip to adelaide.

Dave (SLY XR8) and myself will be packing the utes up for a trip to the LS1 winters at adelaide international raceway.

Should be an interesting trip, we are taking the laptop, some fabricated inlet pipes, hopefully some slicks and front runners, and may even try some weight reduction and/or exhaust removal and re-tuning at the track.

The VSU guys and girls are a great bunch (even if they are into holdens) and Dave and I are really looking forward to a top trip at a fast, sea level track.

I remember racing there with the falcon and dragster, the track is killer. if its prepped, it takes a lot of power to get down the track, the surface will peel your boots off its that well prepped.

Hope to bring back some nice looking consistent timeslips, its a daytime meeting so you never know. Plus, we have to show the LS1 guys that we are getting a lil closer. :Up_to_som

Speak soon,

Chris

just came back from the track and the boys were coolin down the cars for another run, a good day for them out there today as there are not that many cars out there running allowing the guys to get some good runs in, its looking like the boys may go that little bit quicker as the air temp cools of later in the day.

It's a great effort...always looking to try different approaches

I'm sure we'll see 12.5's in the not too distant future unopened

The LS1 record for an unopened car is 11.65@115, done by a G & D Performance SS ute a few weeks ago

It had the usual bolt-ons- edit, otr cai, zorst, valve springs (which is still classed as unopened by them), pullies, 90/10 struts plus driveline mods. I think it was a manual but auto's with stalley's and diff gears and a good suspension setup have got in the 11.7's too I think. 12.4 is the best with stock stall converter

I wonder how these bosses will be doing given another year or 2 of R & D...the times are dropping quick

FYI these are the rules they follow:

Hope I'm not infringing any AFF rules with the link above.

Yes I'm not sure either. They say valve springs are there for reliability but unopened should be 100% unopened....no internal bits touched, and proves how reliable and strong the donk is too
